Teen Sex Statistics – Do "fashionable sexual behavior" Give a reason to brag

How big is the number for those who indulge in teen sex, regardless of the number setting, even if that number is one, then it’s a problem and more so if both parties are unaware of what can come from having unprotected sex. The result can be getting pregnant or contracting a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Okay, getting together with the opposite sex will eventually happen at some point or another (if you’re gay, same schedule), so why not do that at some point? time.” When is the right time, this will depend on what your beliefs are about whether 15 16 17 years is ideal for a sexual relationship. Remember that it is a crime to have sex with minors. If you are determined to go ahead with the coupling, at least do your homework first. You need to consider all the possibilities that contribute to an unwanted pregnancy or, worse yet, contracting a disease that can cause more harm than you can imagine.

Sex statistics should never really be taken seriously due to imperfect measurements. Getting people to talk honestly about their sex lives is a difficult mission, especially if you include a group that is marginalized in some way, such as teenagers. However, the study continues to help describe and understand sexual behaviors among adolescents. Here are some facts about statistics and sexual behaviors of interest.

In the United States, nearly half of all 15-19 year olds have had sex at least once. By the age of 15, only 13% of teens have ever had sex, you’re breaking the law at this age. By age 19, seven out of 10 teens have had sexual intercourse. The norm we find for having sex for the first time is 17. Teens are realizing the dangers of the past where teen sex was higher in number. Fortunately, teens are paying attention to warnings about the dangers of having unprotected sex. Thirteen percent of women and 15% of men aged 15 to 19 in 2002 had sexual intercourse before the age of 15, compared to 19% and 21%, respectively, in 1995.

In England and Wales, the law on sexual offenses was changed. However, the legal age for young people to consent to sex remains 16, whether you’re straight, gay, or bisexual. Although the age of consent remains at 16, the law will not intervene unless it involves abuse or exploitation. Under the Sex Offenses Act, you still have the right to confidential advice on contraception, condoms, pregnancy and abortion, even if you are a minor. In the US, different states may have different age laws for legal sex.

Unfortunately, we still have a few minutes who think they know it all until the inevitable happens. Many teens are prepared to take sexual risks despite more than ten years of public warnings. Teen sex should never be a haphazard event in the hope that God will make things right if they go wrong. Nip it in the bud so you don’t have to say prayers about getting pregnant or getting an STD. The result of intensive research showed that new infections of the AIDS virus in 1999 were the highest in more than 10 years.

The response from some teens who were asked why so early to have sex was, “it’s hot and everyone else is doing it,” so why not me? Another point of interest was that it was a form of bragging where teenagers would brag “Hey everyone, I’ve done it.” Well, this may be the thing to do, but have you ever thought about flashing a belly lump or a prison ID number when your mug shot was taken?

Many teens openly admit that they feel pressured to lose their virginity. The most prominent fear of having unprotected sex was highlighted in terms of an unwanted pregnancy (88%) and 87% said an STD. To stay safe you have to think about condoms. Using a condom is one of the safest forms of birth control and a powerful deterrent against the spread of a sexually transmitted disease.

We have the male and female condom. The male condom is made of thin latex (rubber) or polyurethane and is placed over the erect penis. Condoms are lubricated to make them easier to use.

A condom acts as a barrier between the penis and the vagina, the penis and the mouth, or the penis and the anus. This does not mean that sexual intercourse cannot take place. A condom will cover the entire penis to prevent sperm from entering the vagina.

For women, the female condom is made of soft polyurethane and sits inside the vagina. It is held in place by a ring at each end; It lines the vagina and prevents sperm from entering it. The use of condoms does not bring side effects unlike other forms of contraception.

The female condom, if inserted correctly, is 95% effective. Condoms have been known to break. Problems that occur when using the female condom are: if it slips or comes out of place because it was not inserted correctly. You can get more information at any family planning clinic where free advice and contraception are provided.

Nurse CEUS Requirements by State

Nurse CEUS

In order to fulfill the nurse CEUS requirements, it is important to take courses that are approved by your state board of nursing. You should also check the requirements of your state board to ensure that the course is accredited by an accrediting body. Continuing education is an excellent way to improve your skills and advance your career. However, it can be difficult to fit these courses into your busy schedule. Luckily, there are plenty of options that will help you meet your state requirements.

The first option is to take an online course. Online Free CEUs for Nurses allow you to finish your requirements at your own pace and around your schedule. You can also do this through an accredited institution. Most states require nurses to take 15 hours of CE every two years, so it is important to check the requirements of your state to make sure you are meeting the requirements.

There are many ways to meet the CE requirements for nurses. One way is to use a service like DELPROS, which requires users to log in with their email address and password. Afterward, they can enter their CE hours in the online portal. Once the hours are entered, they can view a dashboard to view their CE hours. Once their hours are complete, they can choose to renew their licenses or use another service. They must also provide a completed Nursing Audit Verification of Nursing Practice or Employment form and upload a copy of their certificate.

Nurse CEUS Requirements by State

It is important to continue education, especially as a nurse, to stay current on the latest advances in patient care. CEs will help you stay abreast of new technologies, therapies, and treatments, and will keep your license current and valid. You can take courses at your nursing facility or take online courses. Alternatively, you can check with your state nursing board for approved CE providers.

Some states require continuing education, while others do not. However, most states have minimum and maximum requirements for CE hours. For example, nurses in New York must complete a course in Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse, while nurses in Michigan must take an hour course in Pain Management. However, the rest of the hours are up to the nurse.

The number of CEUs a nurse needs depends on her license and specialty. Some courses will not count as CEs in all states, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Life Support. In addition, re-certifications may not qualify as CEs either.

How can on-demand food delivery companies use AI to optimize food delivery?

In the so-called information age, at least on-demand food delivery app platforms are one of the really cool things of our time. And the only reason the number of fast casual and quick service restaurants is skyrocketing at breakneck speed. Of course, they have become involved with online delivery platforms.

Spurred by the penetration of the Internet and the savvy use of smartphones, resulting in a growing consumer obsession with ordering food online, it has fueled the food ordering industry, which has witnessed heated competition as a result. where all other food delivery apps compete to attract a larger portion. From the market

But to their dismay, the industry’s smaller entities are failing to harness the power of the latest technologies to optimize delivery, streamline operations and conduct effective marketing. As a result, they fail to increase their sales. Artificial Intelligence (AI) comes from the same family of unused technology that remains untouched, considering it one of those abstract concepts that presumably has no real application.

To prove this perceived notion of AI wrong, and to help you improve your brand by engaging more consumers, here we look at how a brand can use AI to simplify their marketing efforts.

  • Predictive customer behavior

Understanding what consumers want and need, ideally even before they do, can help the brand understand each specific customer and their habits, which can eventually help them provide better service and drive sales.

The easiest way to see this in action is when you log into any e-commerce app and are provided with a variety of suggested products to buy. Using AI deep learning technology, brands can predict consumer behavior months in advance and put it into action. The recommendation engine allows consumers to choose meals based on their food preferences.

  • chatbot support

Chatbots provide automated, on-demand, human-like responses to common and frequently asked customer questions on the web or app, helping save brand time, resources, and money and helping to satisfy customers. with a rapid response system. Chatbot developers create scripts evaluating a large number of possible scenarios, which in turn can simplify customer interactions.

  • voice activated orders

Voice ordering is gaining popularity after the growing dominance of voice assistants like Google Home and Amazon’s Alexa.

Starbucks introduced My Starbucks Barista in 2017, putting the coffee giant on the path to voice-activated ordering. Wingstop first introduced it in 2009, making it one of the first players in the field to offer digital ordering and then to integrate voice-activated technology in 2017. Pizza delivery chain Domino’s also entered the scene. voice-activated mobile ordering relatively early.

  • Kiosks

Quick-service and fast-casual restaurants should integrate AI-powered self-service kiosks to reduce customer waiting time and improve customer ordering experience.

  • automated advertising

Automated advertising automates your online advertising efforts so you can focus on other important business functions instead of spending your time on social media marketing campaigns.

There are money based algorithms and ad performance based algorithms to monitor it. Money-based algorithms use your sales and conversion data from your ad campaigns to raise or lower bids on campaigns based on their monetary performance. Ad performance algorithms use your ad performance data to optimize high-performing campaigns and stop poor-performing ads.

The last word:

In this heavily saturated market, more and more companies are succeeding in their mission to optimize delivery, realizing that the only way to stay competitive is by offering better value to the customer. And the best way to do it is by adopting the latest technologies. AI has revolutionized the way QSRs and other on-demand food delivery apps market and scale their successes. When are you going to adopt him? The trend is here to stay! Be the favorite and contact your food delivery app development company now.

Invest in yourself: why you should start investing in yourself

The word “investment” is used in many ways. The word is even used where it doesn’t exactly belong. So why and how exactly should you invest in yourself? I’m going to explain 3 great reasons why you should start investing in yourself and give you a couple of ways to invest wisely in yourself and your future! In the end, I hope it is clear how important it is to invest in yourself and start this investment today.

3 great reasons to invest in yourself

1. Building trust – Investing in yourself will give you a huge confidence boost. Knowing that you are growing mentally or financially or in any other way is an amazing and rewarding feeling. This can lead to being able to achieve personal goals, explore new ways to improve financially or romantically or anything else, or even just advance your current career. This also allows an open door for you to have more respect and love for yourself because you take notice of the fact that you made a commitment to deal with those things and you will.

2. Higher earnings – If you want to earn a lot of money, you will have to invest in yourself. Before someone is willing to invest in you, you must first invest in yourself. If you do this in an educational way, you will be able to achieve potential growth in almost any industry available. Education is something you should never stop growing in, learn as much as you can and watch yourself reach a potential you didn’t think possible. Have you ever wanted to be rich?

3. You’re worth it – The main reason to invest in yourself is because you are worth it! I try to plant this message in the minds of my children because it is a very valuable lesson. You should never settle for being less than you can truly reach your potential. Every day should be a rewarding challenge to grow your potential to new heights. If you have the mindset that you are worth more than you have, regardless of the situation, you will see massive growth in everything you do. This reason to invest in yourself is undoubtedly the most important.

2 great ways to invest in yourself

1. Educationally – There are all sorts of different ways you can invest in yourself in education and it is highly recommended that you do so. Your brain can hold a ton of information! Never fear education, accept it and welcome it! Any seminar or workshop you’ve been invited to or heard about recently and didn’t think of anything, let’s start thinking about them! I’m not a real estate professional, I don’t even have a house paid for in full right now. However, I have attended countless real estate seminars just because I love to be informed! If I ever decide to pursue a career in real estate, I’m ready.

2. Financially – I understand that this one will be tricky, especially if you have few funds available to start with. However, if you want to substantially increase your level of income, investing in yourself financially is an absolute must! You can do this with stocks, real estate, a business, or anything else that generates income for you. However, if you do this, you need to look at the return on investment! Personally, I don’t do stocks because I don’t see a good enough return on investment. Fortunately, there are many other ways to financially invest in yourself with a fantastic return on investment, such as real estate or direct sales.

A couple of final tips

1. Make a 5-year plan – Have you ever done this during college or high school or maybe even had to say this to a potential employer during an interview? Well, people do this for a reason. Writing things down in general makes it easier to retain the information and commit to doing what you wrote. So make your five year plan and put it somewhere where you can see it every day! When stress overwhelms you, this plan will usually calm you down a bit and you can realize that you are exactly where you want to be on your steps to achieving your full potential and goals.

2. Roll the ball – I’m a great planner! I plan everything I do strategically. I plan exactly how I’m going to make my coffee in the morning! Yes, it’s that extreme, but I enjoy it! Planning is great, however, you must learn to take action! I was one of those people who thought and planned everything but didn’t do much! I had to get the ball rolling and after I finished planning, I had to start executing my plan!

Investing in yourself and your future is very important if you want to achieve big goals or dreams. Ask anyone who has achieved great success at something and they will tell you how important it is and how much they have had to do to get to where they are today. Don’t be afraid to put some money on the line for a possible reward later on. Just make sure your money is going towards something that is rewarding and has a high return on investment!

7 ideas to remodel your home in 2017

Are you trying to think of ideas for remodeling your home? Then join the thousands of others across California who are in the same boat. Making the decision to renovate your property is the easy part. Figuring out what exactly you want to do is not always that simple. The good news is that there is plenty of inspiration out there, as well as reputable general contractors who can help you during the design phase of your remodel.

Building your budget before you make plans is key, so you don’t end up overspending. Fortunately, you don’t need a huge budget for a contractor to compete with interior, exterior, and exterior remodeling. The following are some ideas we hope homeowners implement in 2017.

Paint the house with neutral colors

Neutral colors are definitely in, especially since they go well with almost any type of décor. We are talking about white or almond countertops, appliances and cabinets. These are more economical options compared to custom colors that require expert mixing and matching. Also, if you decide to sell your house later, these colors are less likely to put people off.

Installation of ecological counters

Green remodeling is also in fashion. There are several types of countertop materials that you can use that are environmentally friendly, versatile, and durable. Some of these options include recycled glass and wood, concrete, stainless steel, laminate, paper composite, recycled plastic, and natural stones, such as granite, marble, and quartz. Some general contractors have agreements with countertop manufacturers, so be sure to ask.

Installation of chrome water accessories

Designer faucets are quite popular these days, but if you are looking for something inexpensive, yet has great quality, then chrome is the way to go. You can also choose to use chrome with another finish, such as brass or nickel. Just make sure any type of faucet you buy has a lifetime warranty.

Using fiberglass to enclose your bathtub

This is an excellent alternative to ceramic tile. You will need a one or three piece fiberglass wall panel to enclose the tub area. Fiberglass is more affordable in cost, plus it is quicker to install, reducing labor costs.

Build an outdoor deck or gazebo

It’s great to have a place outside that you can use to enjoy the days and nights outdoors. The terraces and gazebos are ideal for spending time with family or hanging out with friends. You can even go so far as to install an above ground pool with its own deck attached to your back porch. Outdoor constructions like these are very popular in modern remodeling as well as new home construction.

Construction of a direct vent gas fireplace

A beautiful fireplace with a wood or natural stone surround can add a great touch to your living room, kitchen, dining room, or other room in the house. If you decide to build a fireplace, consider making it a direct vent gas fireplace. This consists of two ducts that direct the smoke from the fire to the outside. One of the tubes vents the exhaust gases and the other uses combustion air from outside.

Update the doors and windows in your home

This can be done for decorative or energy efficient purposes. If you have an older home, new exterior doors and windows can make a world of difference to your curb appeal. By selecting windows and doors that block indoor air you will help reduce your energy bills. There’s no reason you can’t have the best of both worlds – go for stylish, eco-friendly windows and doors.

Whatever ideas you have for your next home remodeling project, be sure to find reputable general contractors who can help you from concept to completion.

New Product Markets – Create and Dominate Them Apple Way!

When it comes to creating and dominating new markets, you can learn a lot from how Apple took on Sony…and won. This is the Apple story, told from a strategic marketing point of view.

1997: Apple’s turning point

In 1997 Apple was in ruins. That was the year that Michael Dell, following in the footsteps of a brilliant distribution strategy and booming laptop sales, declared that if he ran Apple, he would shut it down and return the money to shareholders.

In 1997, Sony had by far the best reputation for consumer electronics innovation. Sony had the product, marketing, and engineering talent, as evidenced by a legacy of runaway success in consumer electronics. It was already in the PC market, as well as in the entertainment and content markets through Sony Entertainment. Sony had unsurpassed global distribution and their marketing and advertising were simply brilliant.

In 1997 two totally independent events were taking place. The Asian financial crisis was in full swing and Steve Jobs was back at the helm of Apple, through Apple’s acquisition of NeXT, after a 12-year absence from the company he had co-founded and was now swamping. Apple noted the strategic implications of Japan’s downward spiraling economy and how they would affect the world’s favorite of branded consumer products: Sony.

In Jobs fashion, he flung open Apple’s corporate doors to innovative strategic thinking and brilliant execution. He rewarded him with programs like Apple Fellows. Furthermore, Jobs did what few CEOs are able to do… foster innovation toward a clear and ambitious goal. In Apple’s case, the goal was to create and dominate a profitable segment of consumer electronics and related businesses, while giving the rest to hopelessly entrenched competitors like Sony.

Since the return of Jobs, Apple has outperformed conventional thinking time and time again, creating and sustaining amazing value for consumers around the world. Here are just a few brilliant marketing moves that any company can replicate in any industry. These moves transformed Apple into what Fortune magazine tells us was the world’s most admired company in 2010. Just as it was in 2009 and 2008.

Apple’s marketing strategy

From a strategy standpoint, Apple noted that Sony could not decouple its innovation engine from its freight train of legacy products because it was forced to offer incremental innovations to continue selling money-losing products such as televisions, CD players, etc. and others, just to retain distribution and manufacturing volume. . Sounds familiar?

At the time, large retailers demanded that consumer electronics manufacturers offer a broad and varied product line for retail differentiation, plus incremental and add-on sales. The resulting product line complexity was like a cancer, steadily eating into the profits of volume-addicted manufacturers like Sony, Philips, Thompson, and others. All of these publicly traded companies relied heavily on volume and any significant distribution loss would cause those business models to collapse. Jack Welch recognized these money-losing wives early on and got out of consumer electronics.

Also, as the Japanese economy continued to slide, Sony was becoming more entrenched and bureaucratic, putting it at a competitive disadvantage in addressing any new trends.

Apple’s great ability to create strategies

Recognizing trends, even when your competitors don’t, is just the first step. With few exceptions, it takes creativity to visualize what the trends mean for an industry or target market. After that, it takes focus and carefully applied effort to generate profit from those implications. Apple’s secret ingredient was its ability to think through the implications of trends that anyone could have seen at the time.

Specifically, Apple noted that no other competitor was addressing the product reliability issues created by combining hardware, software, and operating systems from separate companies to create a PC or laptop. With an enthusiastic vision of simplifying creativity for innovative users, Apple built a moat around its new iMac by becoming the only PC maker with homegrown hardware, software, and operating systems. The iMac was introduced in 1998 and the OS X platform in 2001. Apple then went to work on profitable product line extensions and profitable satellite businesses orbiting the iMac.

A key trend that Apple noted was a growing preference for personalization and that the microchip, data storage, and entertainment industries were going in parallel. The company responded by introducing the people-driven i-brand strategy. Apple introduced the iPod and the Apple Store in 2001. iTunes followed in 2003. The Apple Store ushered in an entirely new build-to-order strategy and other profit-enhancing platforms. In the center, still, was the iMac.

Apple noted a growing trend in consumer audio and video production. The company introduced iMovie in 1999, followed by Garage Band and iPhoto in 2002. All three were optimized for the iMac. Apple noted that technology trends were mixing PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and consumer electronics. The iPhone and Apple TV were introduced in 2007. Apple also saw the potential of mobile computing and introduced the App Store in 2008 and the iPad in 2010. Once again, they all orbited around the iMac.

Customer Loyalty: Creation of the Apple Tribe

At a time when Sony was making missteps in marketing and advertising, Apple started hitting home runs. In addition to the success of one product after another, Apple continually grew its tribe by:

  • Partner with archenemy and brand powerhouse Microsoft to introduce Microsoft Office for the Macintosh and allow Microsoft to invest $150 million in non-voting Apple stock.
  • Association with the powerful global chip brand Intel. By 2006, the entire Mac product line had transitioned to Intel microprocessors.
  • Partner with leading peripherals, photography, entertainment, and software companies to make iMac products compatible.
  • Encourage fanaticism of the Mac tribe with conferences, Mac user groups, and other ways to link the growing group of loyalists with each other and with the company.
  • Create clever advertising that continually positions the company as anti-mainstream, appealing to Apple’s target market of early adopters, innovators, and mainstream dropouts.

Fortune names Apple the most admired company in the world

It would seem that Sony should have invented the iMac, the iPod, and the behemoth of innovative products and distribution. Since then, Sony has reinvented itself and has had several successes. However, it still plays a distant second fiddle to Apple. Apple’s market capitalization is ten times greater than Sony’s.

Sony is a great example of a very popular company that had it all, but was handcuffed by product strategy or too distracted by noise to pay attention to trends and trend drivers.

Today, although Apple’s revenue is lower, its market capitalization is greater than that of Walmart and Microsoft. This tells us that investors are pouring big money into innovation, not size.

Apple keeps hitting the long ball. Apple employees thrive in the company’s rare culture of trend-driven strategy and brilliant product and distribution innovation.

The result is that Apple has an innovative and focused business model that eagerly looks for trends, understands them and responds quickly. For the foreseeable future, this will virtually guarantee a continual new stream of innovative new products, markets, partnerships, distribution, and more.

Investors see this and are betting money on Apple’s ability to continue to create new markets. The return has been healthy.

Engaging Students in Learning: Tips and Ideas

A brain-based classroom is one in which students are actively engaged in learning. What exactly does it mean for students to actively participate? It certainly isn’t about students completing worksheets, answering basic questions, or taking notes from a lecture. Take a minute to think about the definitions of these two words. The word active it means moving, working, participating, being energized and provoking action. The word commits it means requiring the use of/occupying, attracting and holding attention, and engaging. Basically, when students actively participate, they participate and work in an active way, full of energy and movement, and they are involved and interested in what is being learned.

wow! Is that too much to ask of our students, or is it more than too much to ask of us? This type of learning requires a lot more work and effort on our part to make it more meaningful to students. It is much easier to read the chapter, answer the questions at the end, and complete a prepared worksheet. However, there is hope! Many of the new textbooks now available include activities that actively engage students in their learning. Does your textbook have these tips and ideas in the teacher’s edition? If so, did you ever use those activities in your lesson plans? The next time you sit down to plan lessons, read through the activities provided and think about how you could incorporate them into your lesson. If you don’t have a newer textbook or are just looking for other ideas to get students actively engaged, the tips below are for you.

Games

Ask students to create their own game that applies the concepts and/or skills learned for a particular unit. This activity also integrates writing, since the students will have to write the instructions. Take some time to check out the educational games that are now available and discuss them with your students. Help them see the elements found in a board or card game. Notice how the instructions are organized and written so that students have a model to follow. One of my students made a set of Colonies as a project for our 13 Colonies unit. He was able to show all the learning from him through the creation of this game.

There are also many great games available these days to help practice reading, spelling, math, science, and social studies skills. How could you use Monopoly, the Allowance game, Scategories, Scrabble, Mastermind, or Taboo in your classroom? While students may think they are simply playing a game, they are actually applying important skills/concepts learned in class. To make the most of this learning opportunity, then have students discuss the different skills they used while playing. Did they learn something new? This type of report makes connections between playing the game and your curriculum. Without the report, the students simply engaged in a fun but pointless activity.

treasure hunt

Create a scavenger hunt for clues, phrases, or questions, and have students read the chapter to find the answers. It is more of a learning experience if the answers are not immediately visible, especially for older students. Have them read the chapter so they can answer the questions or find the clue. Allowing students to work in pairs or groups adds an extra element of fun to this activity. Again, take some time to discuss the activity and results with the class when everyone has finished.

Another twist on this activity that requires more thought on the part of the students is to ask them to read the chapter first and then create their own scavenger hunt. Students then trade papers with each other and have a partner complete their scavenger hunt. Allow pairs of students to discuss the positives and negatives of the created scavenger hunt. What was too easy? What was challenging? Were the questions/clues misleading or clearly understandable?

scripts

Again, this activity works great with textbook reading. Have students work in pairs or groups to turn a historical event, textbook chapter, or story into a play. You can also have students work together to explain a concept or skill through a performance or play. Writing the script incorporates writing skills into the class and provides you with an assessment tool.

A twist on this activity is for students to rewrite events or concepts read about in the textbook or recently learned through direct instruction as a children’s story. This type of activity requires students to think at higher levels. Comprehension, analysis, application, and synthesis are all involved, as students must understand what was read and be able to explain and apply it within a children’s fiction short story.

learning stations

You don’t have to be an elementary school teacher for the Learning Stations to work. Take your unit and think of five or six different activity or reading stations for students to complete. Write the instructions for each station and glue the page to the construction paper. We laminate ours to last. Then write a checklist for students to use as they travel to each station. This will help them know what to complete on each one. To set up, simply place the instructions and materials on a group of desks or a table for each “station.” When you’re done, place the laminated instructions in a manila folder and label them. Then keep it in your file cabinet for next year. In fact, I laminate reading passages, checklists, etc. so you can use them over and over again every year. This type of activity is also a great way to integrate other concepts and skills from the subject area into your lesson/unit.

With all of these activities, it is important that you are monitoring all the time to keep students on track. Ask guiding questions to help students complete the task and get the most out of the activity. You should also take the time to review your expectations for behavior and academic results before each activity. This reminder, along with constant monitoring, helps keep student misbehavior to a minimum. It is also very important that you take the time to discuss or “brief” with the students about the activity. This type of discussion makes connections between the activity, the overall goal, and the lesson objective for your curriculum. Don’t settle for time fillers. With just a little preparation and inspiration, you can get your students up and running, engaged in their learning, and enjoying every minute of it!

Eating the right amount of natural, hand-pounded foods with your favorite side dish is a meal that’s easily digestible and provides you with essential amino acids, the building blocks of protein. As you continue on your diet, you will notice a change in your body that makes you more active.

While this is an introduction to the benefits of hand-pounded rice when included in your diet, we’d also like to hear from you about how organic hand-pounded rice has helped you. Any interesting recipes that have improved the flavor and been appreciated are welcome to be shared.

The wonders of ginger

Rhizome ginger (Zingiber officinale) has been used in Asia for centuries as a culinary spice and as a medicine for the treatment of various ailments. The milder young ginger root, as well as the more pungent mature root, are used in Chinese and Japanese cooking to flavor dishes. In the Qing dynasty it was even used to make a ginger-flavored liquor called Canton. In Britain, ginger is used in the production of a spirit called Crabbie’s Green Ginger Wine. Both the Orientals and the Arabs use ginger infusions to flavor their coffee and tea, while in the West the traditional use is to flavor cookies and sweets, and in ginger ale.

A highly unusual use of ginger was among pre-World War I British mounted regiments when, during public ceremonies, an ovule of peeled ginger root was placed in the horse’s rectum. The practice known as figging (or feauging), resulted in a burning sensation, leaving no permanent damage; he made the horses hold their heads and tails high. As you can well imagine, this practice in humans is observed within the S&M community.

In medicine, ginger root (a misnomer since it is not a root but a horizontal underground stem) is used by traditional Chinese medicine practitioners for gastrointestinal ailments, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and arthritic conditions. In the United States, it has been used to treat pregnancy-induced gastrointestinal upset, nausea, motion sickness, nausea, and arthritis, primarily in folk medicine and alternative medicine. It may be gradually gaining acceptance in traditional western medicine in this country with recent scientific studies reporting positive results.

The flavor and characteristics of ginger root are due to a mixture of zingerone, shoagoles, and gingerols, which are the volatile oils that make up approximately 3% of the dry weight of fresh ginger. Gingerols are the medicinal components that have analgesic, sedative, antipyretic, antiemetic and antibacterial properties in addition to reducing gastrointestinal motility. ginger ( [6]-gingerol) is a relative of capsaicin, the compound that gives bell peppers their peppery hot flavor. When gingerol is exposed to heat (such as in cooking), it transforms into zingerone with its more flavorful, less pungent, sweet-spicy aroma.

The mechanism of action of ginger is poorly understood, however, the antiemetic properties may be due to the inhibition of serotonin receptors that exert a direct effect on the central nervous and gastrointestinal systems. The use of ginger in the treatment of arthritic diseases such as osteoarthritis and rheumatism may be due to the fact that ginger inhibits the activation of the expression of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-a) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), thus acting as an anti-inflammatory agent.

Ginger has been used for years as an over-the-counter preparation to treat motion sickness without the drowsiness of medications such as dimenhydrinate (Dramamine). Apparently it works pretty well, based on some scientific studies done on high seas naval cadets. While a fairly entertaining “scientific” study of the hit Discovery TV show, MythBusters explored [in “Episode 43: Seasickness – Kill or Cure” (premiered: Nov. 16, 2005 )] various non-pharmaceutical remedies along with a placebo to address Adam’s very sensitive motion sickness. Ginger turned out to be one of the most successful “home remedies” to combat this disease on the show. Now back to the published double-blind peer-reviewed studies. In pregnancy-induced nausea, several trials show comparable efficacy with vitamin B6 and superiority over ginger placebo in controlling morning sickness. The Cochrane review showed that ginger is a safe (for the baby and the mother) and effective antiemetic during pregnancy.

There are also studies to substantiate the use of ginger in postoperative (post-anesthesia) nausea. However, ginger did not fare as well in controlling chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.

How Does Ginger Stack Up When Treating Arthritis Pain? While several studies showed mixed results when ginger was used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, a couple of trials showed statistically significant pain relief and reduced swelling with the use of ginger. Ginger has also been studied in in vitro and animal models for conditions ranging from treating bacterial and fungal infections, cancers, and as antihypertensive agents. However, not many have been successfully studied in humans.

There does not appear to be any significant toxicity with ginger. Although the FDA considers ginger to be fairly safe, there is a theoretical risk when it is used with the blood thinner warfarin (Coumadin). In high doses, ginger can cause elevated protimes (PT) in those taking this medication. The only other precaution to be observed is the use of this herb in people with gallbladder disease; those suffering from gallstones may have an exacerbation in their condition as ginger releases bile from the gallbladder.

Clinical trials typically use 250 mg to 1,000 mg of powdered ginger root standardized in capsule form. This dose is taken one to four times a day. For pregnancy-induced nausea studies, a successful regimen of 250 mg four times a day has been used.

In my neck of the woods, a common drink consumed by people today started out as a local medicine. The “world famous” Blenheim Ginger Ale is bottled less than 15 miles from my home in Bennettsville, SC. Blenheim Ginger Ale is named after the natural mineral spring in Blenheim, SC. Dr. CR May, in the late 1800s, advised patients to drink this mineral water to calm an upset stomach. When it was reported that the remedy worked, but that many of the patients did not like the strong mineral taste of the water, he added Jamaican ginger to the water, thus generating the now famous ginger beer. Jamaican ginger has historically been used as a medicine. It is classified as a stimulant and carminative for the treatment of dyspepsia and colic, and tea made from the root was a popular remedy for colds. In 1903, Dr. May entered into a partnership with a partner to bottle the product under the Blenheim Bottling Company. To this day it is considered the oldest and smallest bottling company in America. Some people today use “HOT” red-top Blenheim Ginger Ale more as a medicine than a soda for treating sore throats, colds, flu, and to soothe their stomachaches. Renowned journalist Charles Kuralt in his famous TV series “On the Road” featured ginger ale in one of his episodes, and Penn Jillette (of the comic-magical duo Penn & Teller) is reportedly a big fan of ginger ale. beverage. Penn appeared on the cover of a September 1994 issue of Wired magazine wearing a Blenheim T-shirt and holding a bottle. Health!

Christmas Carol Training – Help us get ahead at the holidays!

I have always been fascinated by situations where art mimics real life and here is a perfect example, linking Christmas and business and personal development.

If you want to read about dodgy people management (on the verge of potential litigation); a man adrift with the world and with himself; shown how to do it through three visionary experiences (and with a brilliant example of building support teams included); and then the last Christmas ‘change’? All of this is brilliantly described for your pleasure in a seasonal reading from ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens.

Here, Dickens brings up all these wonderful examples and takes us through Scrooge’s life, ending in an exemplary and joyful outcome for a man whose life is changed for the better, forever (despite years and years of baggage). .

From an opening on how not to treat your ‘team’ (‘You’re going to want a whole (Christmas) day (free) tomorrow, I guess?’ – and I especially like the image of the poor employee warming himself with a candle!); through the lonely Christmas Eve meal; surviving the initial appearance of Jacob Marley as his knocker (what is the light emitted by a ‘bad lobster in a dark cellar’?), the reader then experiences Scrooge being led through great examples of training by visits from the three ‘ghosts’, exploring, in turn, his lost childhood, an example of how to truly motivate and celebrate with his team of employees (the wonderful ‘boss’ Fezziwig) – and an understanding of what you may be missing in your life if you don’t does. act now He finds the analogies for yourself in a reading that will take you through a simple evening by a cozy fire, perhaps with some mulled wine!

And once you’ve considered this Dickens novel, how many other works of fiction could be considered part of the world of Trainers?

Over the years, through my love of reading, I discovered that there are many problems related to the skills of people who stand out or are interpreted from the world of fiction (not forgetting the cinema: what metaphors so bright on management skills in ‘A bug’s life’ or how to motivate a rebel group like Mel Gibson did in ‘Brave Heart’, to name just a couple). In almost every book you read or movie you watch, if you look at the larger context, there are riches to behold. Many of these are worth enjoying and, where appropriate, sharing with colleagues and friends, just to put another angle on a situation.

take a break and enjoy ‘A Christmas Carol’ at this seasonal time of year, oh yes, and have a great holiday too!

Enjoy the book and feel free to let me know of any other examples you’d like to share that I’d like to read myself!
