Who was Steve Young’s favorite San Francisco 49ers wide receiver?

Steve Young was one of the best quarterbacks the National Football League has ever seen. He played in the USFL with the Los Angeles Express to start his professional career, and after that league disbanded, he joined the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After just two seasons in Tampa, Young was traded to the San Francisco 49ers and the rest, as they say, is history. He was the starting and backup quarterback for the early part of his Bayside career, but after Joe Montana left him to finish his career in Kansas City, the 49ers were all his team.

For most of Young’s career, he was not only able to beat a team with his arm, but also with his legs. His mobility and speed helped him avoid the sack, extend a play and get the ball to the open man. He also helped him get the ball in and run with it quite effectively. Young finished his career with 232 career touchdown passes from him, not a bad number especially when you consider how much time he missed in the USFL and as a backup, but who was his favorite receiver throughout his career? ?

Without a doubt, and unsurprisingly, Steve Young’s favorite receiver was the great Jerry Rice. Rice caught more career touchdown passes from Steve Young than any other player. During their time together, they teamed up for an incredible 85 touchdowns. No quarterback had a better receiver and having played with both Young and Joe Montana, no receiver had better quarterbacks than Rice.

Center Wingers Prove Baseball’s Problems Aren’t Geographic

One group features the last team to win back-to-back pennants, as well as two other teams that made the playoffs last year. It should translate into a pretty competitive group, perhaps among the best in all of baseball.

The other group, however, has had just one of its clubs reach the postseason in the past four years, including three that haven’t won a pennant in a combined eighty-six years. A reasonable guess would be that this quintet of teams would be among the worst in Major League Baseball, probably with an embarrassing overall winning percentage.

The two groups, the American League Central Division and its counterpart in the National League, do feature wingers. However, if you were based on the previous paragraphs, you would be very wrong in your assumption.

With a combined record of 99-143 so far in 2018, the AL Central barely resembles the group that boasted two of the last three pennant winners, as well as two playoff clubs as recently. like last season. Indeed, he is in danger of being represented in the postseason by a team that has lost more than it has won, as the 24-25 Cleveland Indians currently sit atop the division.

Directly across the page, the situation in the NL Central is nearly the opposite. The five clubs boast a combined record of 127 wins and 120 losses, the best overall record among baseball’s six divisions. Take out bottom feeder Cincinnati, and that mark becomes 109-87.

Front office staff, especially those on losing teams, are always quick to blame the size of their market for their lack of success. They claim their small fan base prevents them from pursuing big-name free agents, but that excuse clearly can’t be validated.

If a Midwestern city like Milwaukee can compete, as the Brewers have the past two seasons, then a much larger city like Detroit has little excuse for finishing near the bottom the past three years. The same can be said for the two Ohio teams, the Reds and Indians. Cleveland won a pennant in 2016 and has been among the favorites to capture another in each of the past two seasons. Cincinnati, on the other hand, posted the worst overall record in baseball since 2015.

Again, the failure cannot be blamed on the size of the market, as the two cities are comparable in size and share the same state. Two other clubs on opposite ends share not only the same state, but also the same city.

The Cubs have reached the NL Championship Series in each of the past three seasons, and are currently near the top of the Central Division again in 2018. By contrast, their neighbors on Chicago’s South Side aren’t even they’ve smelled the postseason for a decade. , and the White Sox so far this season have the worst record in baseball.

Commissioner Rob Manfred and other MLB officials need to address the drastic discrepancy in the game, as this situation between the Central Divisions is a symptom of a lack of competitive balance that will only get worse if it continues to be ignored. Allowing owners to gut their teams in what is euphemistically called a rebuild alienates fans of the American pastime, as does the old market size excuse.

When clubs fail to compete in successive seasons, the Commissioner’s office must sanction the owners. For every season a team finishes under .500, MLB must end the owner. Underperforming owners, then, would have to upgrade their equipment or sell it.

For example, Cincinnati owner Bob Castellini would be more likely to seek out a great pitcher if he knew another losing season would result in another fine from MLB officials. The same could be said for new Miami owner Derek Jeter, whose first move was to trade reigning NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton and two other All-Stars with less than a month in the front office.

Most of the fans have complained about two concepts in baseball during the last few seasons, namely home runs and strikeouts. However, the two concepts that further damage the future of baseball are the terms “Market Size” and “Rebuild.”

Educational Technology

Educational technology is becoming more common in schools and this is a great thing. School officials, parents, principals, and teachers know that educational technology helps students learn more, learn faster, and become more organized learners. The limits are endless to what a student can learn by successfully integrating educational technology into their studies. If they are taught in school how to use the Internet and educational technology to enhance their education, they will be very successful in school. It is important for teachers to incorporate educational technology into the classroom not only because of the educational benefits that come from becoming familiar with using technology as an educational tool, but because students respond well to technology.

Kids are now more tech-driven than ever, their wish lists ranging from bikes, baseballs and basketballs to Nintendos, cell phones and laptops. Kids love technology and the endless entertainment opportunities it provides, so why not bring it into schools to keep kids excited and eager to learn? Technology helps a lot in organizing students, whether it’s on the computer, putting documents into different folders, creating organized and clearly written essays, or using any of Microsoft’s programs to improve their document skills, educational technology helps students children to be more organized. Because kids love technology and use it so often as a non-profit group, Netday wanted to write a survey for all school-age kids about technology and how it would impact their education. The survey was only supposed to last one day, it was called Speak Up Day, but due to the tremendous response they extended the survey to one week.

Officials were not surprised that children loved the technology and would like to see more of it, as they knew that when technology was introduced in classrooms in the past, it always caught students’ attention and interested them. It takes a lot more to get students focused and engaged in a classroom these days because of the myriad of technological distractions that might be going on, whether it’s texting on your cell phone, playing games on your cell phone, using handheld video game devices, listening to an iPod, or even other students doing any of these things cause distractions in the classroom and they don’t get as much as they should from the lesson being taught. By introducing educational technology, students will put away their portable entertainment devices and be interested in learning and seeing what new technology devices can do.

In the survey, what surprised school officials and the nonprofit organization Netday, which organized the survey, was that students not only wanted more educational technology, but also were looking for ways to earn money so schools could equip their classrooms with more technology. This surprised school officials because students not only wanted the technology, but also wanted to help raise money by doing fundraisers to help financially equip their schools. This shows how important technology is to our students and kids, we need to start giving them incentives to raise money for technology and help schools become more technologically equipped.

Sports betting: how to know how much to bet per event

The most common mistake amateur and professional sports players make is betting too much on individual events. A simple, hard and fast rule of thumb is to never wager more than 2.5% of your sports betting balance on any given sporting event. However, before we get into the details of how much to bet, there are a few basic rules any sports bettor should remember:

Rule 1: NEVER bet more than you can afford to lose. This is the one rule that many people ignore before it’s too late. Ignoring this, the rule creates all the horror stories. In sports betting, you have to remember that there will be hot and cold streaks and you don’t want to put your rent money or mortgage payment at risk. If the money you are using to gamble is meant for a necessity, then you should not gamble with it. Only bet with discretionary income.

Rule 2: NEVER bet with your heart. This, again, is a simple rule that many players seem to ignore. If the Dallas Cowboys are your favorite team, you have to admit (despite what you may think) that you will be biased when trying to determine the winner of any of their games. The common (mistaken) logic is that because it’s your favorite team, you know more about that team and therefore should be able to determine the winner of their games. Could not be farther from the truth. The problem with this logic is that you listen to Sports Radio biased towards your team, you read newspaper articles biased towards your team, and most importantly, you are biased towards your team. The best rule to follow is to avoid betting on any game that involves a team to which you have ANY allegiance.

Rule 3: NEVER bet on a game because it’s on TV. It’s okay to bet on a game that’s on TV, but don’t bet on a game JUST because it’s on TV.

Rule 4: ALWAYS bet the same amount on each event you bet on. To put it another way, don’t play $250 in Pittsburgh vs. Dallas, $150 in New England vs. Indianapolis, and $500 in Oakland vs. Chicago. The only reason sports bettors do this is because they feel more confident about Oakland vs. Chicago, less confident about Pittsburgh vs. Dallas, and a little bit confident about New England vs. Indianapolis. Too often, the “best” pick of the day turns out to be wrong, a backdoor results in a turnover, or a late interception changes the outcome of the game. DON’T FALL FOR THE 5 STAR LOCK OF THE DAY. Here’s why: Let’s say Steve bets $500 on Oakland +7 vs. Chicago; $250 in Pittsburgh +4 vs. Dallas and $150 in New England -3 vs. Indianapolis. Also, let’s say Tom makes EXACTLY three of the same selections, but he bets $300 on each game. Both players have wagered $900.00. Suppose Oakland doesn’t cover, but Pittsburgh and New England do. Steve won 2 games and lost 1, but lost $100.00 ($250+$150-$500). Tom, on the other hand, won 2 games and lost 1, but won $300.00 ($300 + $300-$300). There is nothing more frustrating than having a winning percentage, but losing money.

Rule 5 – NEVER bet more than 2.5% of your bankroll on any single event. If your balance in your sports betting account is $1000.00 then you need to wager $25.00 per game. The reason is very simple. If you wager $25.00 per game, you would have to lose 40 games in a row before your account is busted. If you wager $100.00 per game (10% of your balance), you only have to lose 10 in a row before your account is busted. In other words, by staking 2.5% of your account balance on a given game, YOU ENSURE that you can withstand even the worst losing streak. Be sure to follow Rule #4 too… Don’t bet more money on one game and less on another.

Rule 6: Once you increase the amount you bet per game, DO NOT reduce the amount you bet per game. Also, you should only increase the amount you bet per game once you have increased your bankroll by 25%. Taking our previous example further. If the bankroll is $1,000.00 then the bet is $25.00 per game UNTIL the original balance increases to $1,250.00. At this point, the amount wagered per game increases to $31.25 per game (or 2.5% of $1,250.00). I would continue this amount until the balance increases by 25% (to $1,560). If you start losing and drop below the last benchmark, DO NOT REDUCE the amount wagered per game. If you do, you will find yourself in an endless cycle.

By following these 6 simple and fairly basic rules, you will find that sports betting will be less stressful and more fun.

Detroit Lions show steady improvement in 2009 NFL season

The Detroit Lions don’t have any expectations for the 2009 season, they just don’t go 0-16 and it looks like that will be good enough. The Lions already improved in 09′ by winning in Week 3 against the Washington Redskins 14-19 — the team’s first win since 07′ against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16. The Lions celebrated their first win in years by colliding the five fans in the crowd.

The Detroit Lions have an uphill climb in every sense of the word. The Lions are basically starting from scratch and at 0-16, the entire roster, aside from Calvin Johnson, needed an overhaul. The most important position in football is quarterback, the Lions are hoping QB Matthew Stafford will help the Lions to an 8-8 or 7-9 record, which by Lions standards would be a great season. .

The Lions’ offense ranks in the middle of teams in the leagues, defense ranks in the bottom half in all major categories. The division the Lions play in, the NFC North, isn’t doing them any good: The Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears all improved from last season.

The Lions’ offense shouldn’t give away games and give opposing teams a lot of turnovers. Rookie QBs often turn the ball over throwing interceptions, Matthew Stafford needs to stay calm and make smart decisions, easier said obviously. Hopefully in 2009 the Lions can hit the .500 mark and maybe make the playoffs one year. If any city deserves a winning football team for once it’s Detroit, they have been more than patient with their team.

Matthew Stafford may be the only one to lead the team, Calvin Johnson should play one of the best wide receivers in the game and help Stafford look good. The Detroit Lions may not win many games, but better days are surely ahead.

Minnesota needs to find an experienced replacement for Jason Castro

Minnesota once had a backup catcher named Matthew Lecroy, whose last name is just a different letter from the player who could soon become the Twins’ regular backup. Now that an injury has sidelined Jason Castro for the rest of this season, second-place Minnesota must replace him with an experienced receiver.

An obvious choice would be TJ Realmuto of the Marlins, who made him available over the winter as part of their rebuild. Apparently, Miami’s asking price is too high, due to the status of the Realmuto team’s friendly contract.

Former Twins wide receiver Kurt Suzuki will likely request a consultation, but his current team, Atlanta, is in the lead and isn’t likely to want to turn things around when dealing with his veteran backup. Few other clubs have the luxury of additional wide receivers, except possibly for the Indians.

Cleveland has a couple of talented catchers on the Major League team, while one of its top prospects is also a catcher. Francisco Mejia at age twenty-two already had some big league experience, but thanks to the two guys in front of him, the Indians have Mejia trying out other positions this year.

While a trade to the Twins would allow Mejia to remain in his natural position, a deal is unlikely. First, the Minnesota Wild prefers a veteran catcher with experience in a pennant race. Also, the Twins don’t need a long-term replacement, just a catcher to replace Castro for the rest of this season. It’s also doubtful the Indians will make a deal that will strengthen a Minnesota team that is just one game behind them in the standings.

One name that came up certainly meets the experience criteria and a short-term stay, and remains unsigned after filing for free agency last November. Though Carlos Ruiz led the Philadelphia Phillies to two pennants as well as a World Series Championship, at nine and thirty he would be considered an old man for the exacting demands of an everyday catcher.

That brings us back to former Twins catcher with the French name, Matthew Lecroy. He has been off the field for more than a decade and is currently employed as a coach in the minor leagues, so obviously he will not be Castro’s replacement.

No, Minnesota’s next receiver won’t be Lecroy, but it should be Lucroy. That’s the last name of All-Star catcher Jonathan, who currently announces games for the A’s.

With Oakland in the midst of a rebuild and holding back the rest of the teams in the AL West, the front office would likely be willing to trade Lucroy for a top-10 Twins prospect. Since he only signed for 2018, Minnesota would simply lease Lucroy for this season.

Giving up a prospect for a rental player might seem shortsighted, until you consider the Twins’ position this year. Everyone in their division other than Cleveland is in rebuilding mode, giving Minnesota plenty of win prospects and a good chance to repeat as a Wild Card if they can’t beat the Indians.

Basically, the Twins need to attack now.

Stand up for yourself – How to overcome manipulation

When you are full of doubt, the tendency is that you don’t know how to fight for yourself. What’s worse is that other people can easily control you, even if it’s against your will.

You have to fight for your right.

Be proud of who you are.

Defend yourself.

Don’t let fear stop you. If you continue to live in a world of cowardice, you will never see the beauty of life. Living means taking risks and going beyond your comfort zone. The world is too big to allow one person to manipulate you. This is what you have to do…

Know that you have the right

When you negotiate with a manipulative person, you have to be aware that your rights have been trampled on. Always remember that you have the privilege to stand up for yourself, especially if you are not respected as an individual.

The manipulators will steal your rights so that they have dominion over you. It’s only “you: who has the power to command your life. Be in charge.

Stop blaming yourself

It’s not your fault. Everyone has a weakness and it is up to you how you will be able to overcome it. Being able to conquer shortcomings is how we become stronger as people. Never think that you are the problem. What becomes bad is when you let that person keep manipulating you.

Know how to say “no”

There is nothing wrong with expressing how you feel, especially if it goes against your morals. We all have different principles that govern our lives, so individual differences must be respected. Be firm with your decisions. Keep in mind that saying “no” is simply admitting how you really feel, and you absolutely have the privilege of doing so.

stand your ground

A person can only intimidate you if you allow them to. Don’t show your weakness and show them that you are strong. Take the control. For once in your life, live in freedom, free yourself from the bonds of fear.

All of these things are easier said than done. But how can you change your situation if you don’t start deciding for yourself? If you want to achieve something, take the next step. Respect is something you have to earn. The moment you don’t recognize your right as a person, that’s when you lose your individuality. Respect yourself first and everything else will come later.

Pro Football: Leonard “Green Shoes” Weaver leads Seahawks to 2nd win in 7 games

Football should be fun and the Seattle Seahawks finally did just that by driving the San Francisco 49ers out of their home field on Sunday (10-26-08) behind Leonard “Green Shoes” Weaver’s catch-and-run explosion and the skill to steal passes. by Josh Wilson, winning 34-13.

On a day when Seattle’s defense not only appeared but played, Weaver turned two short receptions from backup quarterback Seneca Wallace into touchdowns of 43 and 62 yards.

Just seeing Weaver running down the sideline in prominent lime green shoes was worth the price of admission. Weaver, the 6-foot, 242-pound fullback from Seattle, took high strides and great style as he took the stone home twice. Normally, Weaver is the primary blocker for running backs Julius Jones and Mo Morris.

Weaver’s green shoes are reminiscent of another, more famous athlete from the mid-1970s, Billy “White Shoes” Johnson. Johnson, a three-time All-Pro kick return specialist, wore white shoes when everyone else wore black shoes.

Johnson had blazing speed, and long before swagger became an end zone pastime in the NFL, he was one of the first players to throw scoring celebrations, initially doing the then-famous soul dance, the ” FunkyChicken.”

Josh Wilson, the Seahawks’ second-year defensive back and kickoff return specialist, spotted a fumble in last week’s 20-10 loss at Tampa Bay and was running for an apparent 96-yard touchdown when an official called the dead play.

It was no surprise on Sunday when Wilson intercepted a pass from JT O’Sullivan and took off on a 75-yard opening return to put Seattle up 20-3 with 31 seconds left in the first half. Coach Mike Holmgren saw Wilson’s steal as a tremendous boost for his

Seahawks.

The Seahawk defense had sacked O’Sullivan 8 times in their first meeting this year in Seattle, but the 49ers walked away with a 33-30 overtime win. They got to the San Francisco quarterbacks 5 times this time, but forced starter O’Sullivan to fumble two fumbles, and 6-foot-5, 272-pound defensive end Patrick Kerney picked up one of the fumbles and he ran 50 yards, creating a second field. Goal in the 1st quarter.

Seattle’s missing defense earlier in the season showed up in JT O’Sullivan’s backfield, putting so much pressure on O’Sullivan that new 49ers coach Mike Singletary replaced him with Shaun Hill. It didn’t seem to matter because Seattle left San Francisco on top this time.

The Seahawks, now 2-5 on the year, are tied for second in the weak NFC West with the St. Louis Rams. The Arizona Cardinals lead the division with a 4-3 record.

Training outside linebackers

The most difficult position on the field for most defenses is outside linebacker. In a typical 8-man Front, such as 3-5-3 or 4-2-5 defenses, these players have dual responsibilities.

Responsibility

The outside linebacker is primarily responsible for containing the run, forcing the ball carrier back inside on edge runs. It can also force the ball carrier to bubble and work laterally towards the sideline, allowing the chase to get there to help.

The OLB’s second responsibility is to cover the floors in the pass. Typically, 8-man fronts will run Cover 3 as base cover.

Most defensive coordinators use a combination of man and zone coverage. The OLB will normally be locked into Receiver #2 next to it in Deck 1 or Deck 0, a slot, or the Tight End. When a player is locked in man coverage, he cannot be considered part of the running defense.

Alignment

The Outside Linebacker’s lineup will depend on your defense and his abilities. Typically he will be somewhere in the range of 3-5 yards off the End Man on the Line of Scrimmage (EMOLS) and 2-5 yards off the Line of Scrimmage (LOS).

If there is a #2 receiver, the OLB commonly uses an apex lineup, 5 yards from the ball and midway between the EMOLS and the slot. Depending on the team and the ability of the space, you can choose to line it up closer to the space to deter the pass or closer to the EMOLS to help in the running game.

Keys and Reaction

The main key of the OLB is the EMOLS, a Tackle or Tight End, for a High-Hat, Low Hat reading. High Hat, which means the OT’s helmet appears as in a pass game, tells him that the play is a pass and he should open up to flats (but this will be dictated by the coverage call). In a low hat read, when the OT shoots flat-backed, he’s assuming he runs. The OLB should be thinking about running unless he gets a definite high pass read.

You can help the OLB get their readings by studying the EMOLS film you will be reading. Different teams employ different techniques for blocking passes and runs.

After getting a low hat reading, the OLB checks its secondary key: the broker. You need to attack the run appropriately by reading the run block and backfield action:

EMOLS block hard inside, RB for you – attack the line of scrimmage to replace where EMOLS left off. Expect a kick block from a RB or shot guard. Do it with your inside arm, keeping your outside arm and leg free and your shoulders aligned with the line. Restrict the running lane on the inside and get ready to make the ball carrier bounce on the outside.

EMOLS drive blocks Defensive End, RB for you: Shuffle up and inside, but don’t go all the way to the line of scrimmage. Maintain outside leverage until the RB bids inside, then double inside to make the tackle. If it bounces out, it boxes the play.

EMOLS Catches you, RB fast flow off you: Attack the line of scrimmage but keep your width. If you have a number 2 receiver, decide if you can beat him to the point of attack or need to beat his screen. If you have to beat their block, go through it, drive it back, and work your way out to contain play.

EMOLS Zone or Reach away from you, Backfield flow away – Keep your depth, bend inside to stack the defensive end. Check the Time Trial, Reverse, Contraband action and get ready to get back to work. Do not pass the Defensive End until the ball is declared away from you.

Play Action Pass can put a lot of stress on your backers. If the OLB reads run, he should attack because he is a first run player. But once he becomes aware of the pass, usually via secondary key action, he must break it to get back out into his pass coverage area. Never give up on a play!

Coaching Outside Linebackers

The individual techniques required for OLBs are similar to those of any defensive player. They need to be able to read your key and react, beat a screen, make a tackle, pass and cause turnovers. All of these skills should be worked into a collection of 5 daily exercises, time permitting. Add other exercises to work on your weaknesses.

Group work is crucial for the outside linebacker to understand his role. He will work with safeties, cornerbacks, defensive ends and inside linebackers. Have group drills each week that allow you to see his role in defense with each of these groups. Make sure the group exercises are relevant to the opponent you’ll be facing this week.

Understand that offensive coordinators will pick on your outside linebacker. He is the player who is most easily put in conflict. Offensive schemes will try to frustrate you and make you guess.

Your outside linebackers will make mistakes! Train them to trust their keys, play physically and run to the ball at all times to have the best OLB game possible.

Some of the animals you can raise on your farm are chickens, sheep, and cows. Chickens are the easiest to keep, while cows are the most time consuming. However, in terms of income potential, cow farming is what really pays off.

5. Placement of objects –

You can place items in various places on your farm and drop them off to generate money. Some of the objects you can place are greenhouses, solar collectors, wind power converters and bee houses. All of these generate a certain amount of money per hour.

Don’t worry when it comes to making money. Enjoy plowing, sowing, fertilizing and harvesting and use these strategies to collect money.
