"Psychological disorders" – Just maladaptive qualities of Myers Briggs’ intense personality types?

"Psychological disorders" – Just maladaptive qualities of Myers Briggs’ intense personality types?

Before we begin, let’s make an exaggerated analogy with our world. In a warrior society, a kind person who is a Buddhist (with good serotonin / dopamine production in his brain) would be diagnosed by warrior psychologists as suffering from “cowardice syndrome” and perhaps treated with liquor. Similarly, in a caring and harmonious Buddhist society, an aggressive warrior would be diagnosed with some form of antisocial disorder and treated with whatever the monk psychiatrists deem appropriate.

In Myers Briggs Personality Typology Descriptions, you can filter out the most adaptive and maladaptive characteristics of each type. Assuming the type we’re looking at is sharp (let’s say an ESTP with each letter 60 or more), the so-called “positives” and “negatives” can be drawn quickly. It then becomes intuitively logical to think that some types of MBTI are more likely to have some psychological “disorders” than others based on their predetermined ways of being. All one has to do is match descriptions of psychic disorders with descriptions of MBTI types when they are not in their prime and unable to cope (say a stressed low-income, low-educated INFP in a country where ESTJs are culturally dominant and expect everyone to be like them).

The reason I put psychic “disorders” in quotation marks is that, as indicated above, these maladaptive “conditions” appear to be (for the most part) physiological traits of different races of homo sapien when pushed to the neurotic limit by social conditions. . Negative psychology still dominates and only classifies conditions when they become the most apparent and serious. Usually that involves a certain race of human beings at a lower end of the socioeconomic scale who are forced to seek help to continue functioning. The self-defeating nature of negative psychology (versus the emerging field of positive psychology) has been hurting for more than a century.

In other words,

1) The dominant culture / socio-economic system of a country is often closely correlated with some dominant types of Myers Briggs (usually extroverted “I’s”)

2) Breeds that differ physiologically from the dominant races of the pack are forced to participate in a socioeconomic system (run by the rulers) that is incompatible with them.

3) If people who are incompatible with your system are wealthy and connected, they have more coping mechanisms to deal with stressors and avoid / lessen the activation of “negative” neurotic qualities of their MBTI type.

4) The breeds that are likely to seek help (and their condition will be classified and coded as science) have had the positive qualities of their MBTI type suppressed and the negative ones exaggerated by neurosis causing social stressors. They are likely to belong to the poorer and less educated end of the proletarian class and thus have more on their plates every day without being able to also verbalize what ails them. Even if they belong to the arrogant faction of the proletariat that imagines itself as “middle class”, it is likely that they are misinformed about the fundamental structural nature of their neurosis and submit to so-called experts within the field of negative psychology. dominated by corporations.

5) All of this is compounded when the economic pie contracts instead of expanding (this means a reversal of industrialization rather than a constant material renewal of an industrialized country)

Let’s start the journey to match the Myers-Briggs breeds that are most likely to get a certain “disorder” rating for one of their more extreme limbs. For reference, the MBTI types to be paired are Treble (60 or more for each letter). Some disorders may require that only one function be abnormally (statistically) high, such as 100 F. Therefore, not all acute MBTI types should necessarily match the descriptions of the disorders, but rather those acute MBTI types within the group already sharp from his brothers. This is an incomplete and imperfect list that will be updated as time goes on. It should serve as a starting point for the discussion.

Autistic spectrum

More likely among ISTPs – the high detection function close to 100 seems key, as the nerves leading to the eyeballs are thicker than in most people. Temple Grandin, an autistic woman, beautifully explained in her TED speech that she “thinks” in pictures rather than symbolically. She humorously mentions that the introverted scientists / inventors / technicians in the audience are probably hitting the edge of autism in some cases and that helps them in their specific detail work. High introversion explains the super low interpersonal communication skills and avoidance of social situations that deplete the energy of the autistic.

High T and lack of emotions explain the lack of close attachment to objects within the world during those rare moments when the autistic person decides to engage with the world (a flash of extroversion). High P contributes to action paralysis and super sensory overload. The brain is likely overclocked with video / audio inputs without a biological way to use the data in a nice way. The overall result is a person who acts much like someone who takes dissociative drugs (able to be closer to the perfect objective robotic perception of the world without being clouded by emotion).

Mood Disorders – Depressive and Bipolar (for emotional roller coasters to occur in the first place, a super strong F function (90-100 range again) is needed to feel both extreme highs and lows and extreme low disorders at work) .

Depression

More likely among ISFJs and ESFJs – our current ENTJ / ENTP dominated society is very unfriendly to self-sacrificing SFJs. Rapid technological and cultural change, the atomization of society and the family by the free market, and dog-eat-dog interpersonal interactions are most likely to have the greatest negative impact on SFJs. Their help is not rewarded, but ridiculed and bound SFJs are less likely to relax and party like their FP counterparts. Strong S makes them focus on their constant lack of affirmation by others in the here and now, while the J contributes to an inflexible and emotionally charged moralistic system that is constantly viewed by the S as being violated. Strong J also anchors the person in a depressed brooding mood with fewer interruptions in a happier, higher mood (see below).

Bipolar

It is more likely between ENFPs and ESFPs: considering the extroverted manic phase of a bipolar person, high E seems a key contribution along with very high F. emotional plane by a strong J). The extroverted FP goes out into the world full of energy and inspiration but is brought down by the cynical social environment. Acute sensitivity to criticism and a strong P to observe how such criticism is justified from many angles creates a severe emotional breakdown and a withdrawal into the depressive phase. The constant emotional change adds to the mental confusion and the feeling of lack of control. These are the people who love to party and are all over the place, but face severe shocks when they encounter an environmental obstacle. The extroversion should be maintained and not unhealthily repressed.

ADHD

It is more likely between ENFP, ESFP, ENTP and ESTP: the key seems to be the constant change of perceptual angles for a P greater than 60 and a strong extroversion that causes the person to turn towards the world and feel dull when that desire is frustrates. It also appears to be just a common infant screening phase of toddlers and children of most types of MBTI.

Schizoid personality

Most likely among ISTJs, INTJs, and possibly INTPs: Schizoids are characterized by social isolation, emotional coldness, and indifference toward others. Very impaired social functioning, extreme loneliness, and grandiose visions of extroversion. Obviously, the above characteristics are caused by the same strong I and T as in autism, but schizoids are not totally overloaded with sensory overload. This allows them to be creative at times. Political Ponerology presents an interesting case that schizoids (because they spend so much time alone looking at the fast-moving world with often vengeful fantasies) write the literature and constructs that inspire subclinical and clinical psychopaths.

Psychopathy

Most likely among ENTJ, ENTP – These are the natural predators of the human herd and they delight in it if they gain the power rather than enhance it. The essential elements are a high maximum T of 100 for clinical psychopaths and a T greater than 60 for subclinicals (the softest who have a foot in both the human world and the predatory world and who make natural politicians). This ensures that there is no emotional empathy for your fellow homo sapien. They literally cannot feel what others feel and this makes most people seem irrational and weak. The closest they have to emotion (which they confuse the concept with) is sexual arousal and aggression. Strong E makes them go out into the world and intensely socialize with their prey while Strong N’s intuition allows them to quickly learn to imitate their prey (smile, know what words with emotional meaning to say, etc.).

There is a debate in the literature as to whether psychopaths cluster on the J (left brain) or P (right brain) side or if it is nothing more than a continuum of psychopathy. Most likely it is a continuum with different specialization of work among predators. They share the same characteristics, except that the ENTJ is driven by mindless goals, regardless of the human cost (the bully), while the ENTP is disorganized but more capable of emulating / getting along with different humans and creatively exploiting that ability (the Scammer). ). Their lack of emotional intelligence and their desire for exploitative shortcuts make them poor technocrats, blue-collar workers, and high-tech specialists. Subclinics could be headed in the right direction and become productive members of the community. They have additional “disorder” characterizations of hypomania and narcissism.

Schizotypal personality disorder

Most likely between INTP and INFP: the key element appears to be a super high P which can create perceptual data overflow creating a pseudo-hallucination effect. An N of 100 and a P of 100 can easily create conspiracy theories that don’t exist.

Borderline personality disorder

Most likely among ESTPs – these very boring and emotionless people (high P’s and T’s) live on the edge and are therefore good soldiers or criminals. They don’t have the intuition of being psychopaths and they don’t interact with too many diverse people as often as they don’t get along. A super high E is key and makes them seek entertainment in the here and now (S) that would be overwhelming for most.

This ends the brainstorming secession. Again, the article does not imply that each type of Myers Briggs matches a group of descriptions that are labeled as a specific disorder. It implies that among the intense MBTI types, there is an even more intense minority within them whose behavior (if stressed / guided enough by society) matches certain descriptions of disorders more often than others. There are certainly overlays that I didn’t mention along with some types that were excluded (for now) like ESTJ, INFJ, ISFP, and ENFJ. You can take a Myers Briggs test online (try to pick a good, detailed one) and see where it falls yourself.
