Payday Loans – The Benefits and Risks

Living with your paycheck can present challenges, especially when you need instant cash in situations that really can’t wait until your next payday. Running out of cash isn’t uncommon, but when an emergency strikes, you’ll need that boost, and it can sometimes be hard to come by. This is where payday loans come into the picture to rescue the situation. They are quick loans that offer short-term financial support until the next paycheck.

Payday loans come with different payment terms depending on which provider you settle for, but the truth is, you’re more likely to pay off in as little as two weeks. Of course, they can be paid on the spot and attract interest. The total amount that you can enjoy the loans can be determined by your salary and the financial situation in which you are. They have become very popular, but the least you can do before opting for one is to familiarize yourself with the benefits and risks of taking them.

Payday Loan Benefits

  • These loans are useful in emergency financial situations and are quite discreet. You don’t have to worry about your close friends and family knowing about your financial crisis when you can easily access payday loans discreetly.

  • The loans can be enjoyed with any collateral requirement. All you need to do is fill out a simple application form for an appraisal and you qualify for a reasonable short-term loan. You can actually enjoy no credit check payday loans where the lender does not rely on your credit history to give you the financial assistance you need. As long as you have a salary to pay the loan, you qualify for it.

  • Loan processing is quick and easy so you can access money when you need it most. You don’t have to worry about lengthy loan processing processes when it comes to short-term loans. Sometimes it may only take a few hours for your application to be approved and funds to be channeled to you. This is something that you can’t really say with bank loans.

Payday Loan Risks

  • Loans do not offer ideal coverage for long-term financial issues. They are best suited for urgent funding shortfalls for workers, and continually relying on them can mean more financial trouble for some.

  • Since the loans do not require any collateral or good credit, they tend to have very high interest rates. If you’re not very careful when choosing a lender, you could end up with a loan that’s too difficult to repay.

  • They can hurt your credit score when you miss a payment and incur penalties. Some lenders may not require a clean credit history, but these are loans and failure to pay can negatively affect your credit score. It is something that can affect access to financing even from banks and other long-term institutions.

When looking for a payday loan, it’s important to first assess the financial crisis you’re in to determine if a short-term loan is what you really need to fix it. Sometimes you may need some major spending changes to address your financing need. It is best to stick to loans only when you absolutely have to get one and when it is the only reasonable financial solution at the present time. Take the time to compare lenders for the best loan and payment terms to suit your financial situation.

Common Pennies for Kitchen Cabinets

Seems like old Ben Franklin was ahead of his time. With the nation in economic crisis, at no time has the adage “A penny saved is a penny earned” been more relevant. And while it may seem like an impossibility in today’s financial climate, there are plenty of ways to save quite a bit of money when it comes to renovating your kitchen. To keep things simple, let’s focus our savings efforts on the heart of the room: the kitchen cabinets.

In a recent article titled “Save a Penny With Your Kitchen,” the Post-Bulletin offered some “pennies-in-the-wall” tips for achieving satisfying results in the kitchen. Among his advice was:

Paint/Finish: “Not only is it the least expensive of almost anything you can do, it can have the biggest impact. Changing the color will create a new canvas to update the look in just a day or two.” That advice is fine and great if your existing kitchen cabinets are in good shape, but what if they need an overhaul? Look for a kitchen cabinet manufacturer that offers pre-assembled and ready-to-assemble cabinets in a variety of finish colors. Cream and white cabinet finishes add a fresh, clean appeal to your kitchen. Warm woods like cider, oak, bay, and hickory bring attractive appeal to kitchen cabinets. Darker woods like Nile gloss, burgundy, and Ruxton brown give it a rustic cabin flavor.

Cabinets: “Buy in-stock items or semi-custom cabinets that can give you custom craftsmanship.” Opting for pre-assembled and ready-to-assemble kitchen cabinets saves you not only money but also time. That means you’ll be able to start enjoying your new kitchen much faster than you would if you had to wait for custom cabinetry options. However, don’t feel like you’ll lose that personalized attention to detail by choosing pre-assembled or ready-to-assemble kitchen cabinets. Select a kitchen cabinet manufacturer that offers a variety of customization options for its pre-assembled and ready-to-assemble cabinets. Some of the additional features you can still expect to enjoy include accent molding, turn trays, drop-down trays, infills, light rails, matching baseboards, special end panels, and heat shields.

Increase storage: The Post-Bulletin expert “sees clients switch from a U-shaped layout to an L-shaped layout and add an island or increase the size of the island to include an eating space…the homeowner can have a new look and more storage and efficient use of space.” To that end, look for a manufacturer of ready-to-assemble and pre-assembled kitchen cabinets that offers an online design tool. In this way, you can plan your new kitchen down to the last detail, thus ensuring that your new pre-assembled or ready-to-assemble kitchen furniture fits together correctly. In this case, there’s another old adage you can ignore: “Measure twice, cut once.” That’s because the well-rounded kitchen cabinet maker takes all the guesswork out of the equation for you!

By adhering to the helpful tips and planning guidelines above, you can create an attractive and functional kitchen, as well as ensure that your project is completed to the best of its ability…all without spending a dime. Our wise founding father, Ben Franklin, would surely approve.

Four dimensions of leadership

Today’s business literature is replete with leadership models, and an entire industry has grown up around leadership development. Leadership is arguably one of the most valuable human activities, but despite the vast literature on the subject, many people remain unable to identify the basic components that define what leadership is. is. We intuitively know that leaders have the talent to unite people; getting them to work together effectively; to align them around a common purpose, goals and objectives; getting them to cooperate and trust each other; and trust each other. We also know from the experience of watching leaders in action that the generic attributes of leadership described in the literature, and the current role a leader plays do not occur in a vacuum, but are embedded in specific historical contexts, business situations, and the organizational structures, systems, and culture within which people lead (Elliot Jaques and Stephen Clement, executive leadership(Arlington, VA: Cason Hall, 1994, p. xiv ff. and 6 ff.).

Research and field analysis have shown that leadership has four interdependent dimensions.

  • Expertise, Experience and Wisdom
  • problem solving ability
  • Personality, Core Beliefs, and Values
  • Awareness of self and others

The first dimension of leadership (Expertise, Experience, and Wisdom) includes education, expertise, experience in specific industries and markets, and a track record of effective leadership in organizations with various numbers of employees and levels of management (Elliot Jaques, organization required, Baltimore, MD: 2006). Over time, managerial wisdom emerges as sound and experienced judgment about how organizations and industries work, what motivates people, what customers and suppliers really need and want, and how to work effectively at the highest levels of management. tall.

The second dimension of leadership (Problem Solving Ability) is about having the right level of “brainpower” to effectively perform the level of complexity of the job and task a person is given. Job and task complexity is defined as: a) the number of variables operating in a situation, b) the ambiguity of these variables, c) their rate of change over time, d) the extent to which they are intertwined in way they have to be unraveled to be seen, e) the person’s ability to identify and control the salient variables once known, and f) the time horizon of the work in terms of days, months and years (Jaques, organization required, p. 24 et seq. and Jacques and Clemente, executive leadership, p. XIV and ss.).

The third dimension of leadership (personality, core beliefs, and values) manifests as patterns of behavior and interaction, unspoken assumptions, intrinsic motivators, and underlying patterns of how leaders view themselves, other people, and the world around them ( see Mark Bodnarczuk, Breckenridge (TM) Type Indicator). There is no “correct” personality or set of core beliefs and values for a given leadership position, rather the question is: a) to what extent do they help a person work effectively, or b) do they reveal decision biases? of decisions. , predictable errors in judgment, or patterns of inappropriate behavior? A key indicator that a person has a mature understanding of this dimension of leadership is the degree to which they: a) avoid using what Collins calls thinking of one or the otherand b) instead of practicing both-and-thinking (Jim Collins, built to last, New York: Harper Business, 1994, p. 43 et seq.).

The fourth dimension of leadership (Awareness of Self and Others) is based on timeless principles found in Jim Collins’ best-selling book, Good to excellent (Jim Collins, Good to excellent, New York: Harper Business, 2001). Collins began his research on Good to excellent with a bias against leadership. He told his research team that the fact that “great companies had great leaders” was self-evident and not an interesting finding. But his research showed that the really great companies had a fundamentally different type of leader—what he called a Level 5 leader—and these people were characterized by professional will and fierce resolve combined with personal humility. Level 5 leaders put self-interest aside and instead focus on building a sustainable organization and preparing others to succeed, not fail. Level 5 leaders know how to look inward into the mirror of personal responsibility when things go wrong, and they know how to give credit to others when things go well (Collins, Good to excellent, p. 33 et seq.). The key question is: “How does one become the kind of leader that Collins describes in Good to excellent“Collins argues that Level 5 leaders exhibit a pattern of personal development in which the ego-focused drive required to rise to the top of corporate America morphs into the paradoxical combination of professional will, fierce resolve, and humility. but does not offer a systematic answer approach to becoming a Level 5 leader: is beyond the scope of this study Our view is that the fourth dimension of leadership (Awareness of Self and Others) is the key to become a Level 5 Leader.

The four dimensions of leadership are an interdependent set of competencies, skills, and characteristics that enable leaders to unite people; getting them to work together effectively; to align them around a common purpose, goals and objectives; getting them to cooperate and trust each other; and trust each other. As mentioned above, the generic attributes of leadership described in the literature, and the Current role that a leader plays out on a day-to-day basis do not occur in a vacuum, but are embedded in specific historical contexts, business situations, and organizational structures, systems, and culture within which people lead. Consequently, the four dimensions of leadership must always be contextualized and applied to the real-life situations and challenges leaders face.

Rustic Romantic Farmhouse in Genoa NV

I recently rented this cute little guest house nestled in the lower Sierra Nevada Mountain Range near Lake Tahoe, CA. It is located in the city of Genoa, NV., just a few miles from Stateline, NV., home of Harrah’s, Harvey’s, The Horizon and Mont Bleu casinos. It’s also close to Heavenly Valley and Kirkwood Ski Resorts, home to some of the best skiing in North America. Lake Tahoe is also famous for its crystal clear mountain waters and refreshingly cool air, making the environment suitable for boating, boating, camping, and fishing.

The small town of Genoa, NV boasts the oldest bar in the state and just 1 mile away is Wally’s Hot Springs, a natural hot springs complex with many pools of hot spring water heated by mother earth. .

Genoa, NV. With a normal population of approximately 250 inhabitants, it is the venue for the Candy Dance, an event that takes place every year on the last weekend of September and combines a street fair, candy sales and street dancing. Known for its friendly charm and wonderful weather, this small country town becomes a driving street that makes up a metropolis with a combined population of nearly 70,000 over the two days.

This little cabin in Genoa NV provided me with a calm and serene environment for a quiet weekend getaway. I could definitely see where it would also be nice for a wedding or a very intimate gathering of friends. The owner told me that she could organize everything from a bottle of wine to an entire wedding, consisting of seats, music, photographers, food, a minister, flowers, and drinks.

The unit itself consisted of approximately 400 square feet with a full kitchen, studio-style bedding arrangement looking through French doors, and one bathroom. Some of the amenities I noticed included were a refrigerator, microwave, stove, BBQ, heated floors, sheepskin rugs, queen sleigh bed, CD player, cable TV with all premium channels, DVD player built-in, guest robes and much more.

The pressure of the passage of time

On time

Something I’ve been noticing for a while now is time pressure. How fast are you, how slow are you, are you on time for an appointment, are you on time, are you always late, do you have to be early? Do you feel like time is slipping away from you, do you feel like you are constantly in a mid-life crisis? Do other people expect you to be faster? Do you need to slow down?

It is enormously taxing on the endocrine system.

The watch

We live in a society that measures things with a clock. Appointment time. Noon is lunchtime; you have to eat. We have a lot of time on an exam. We should have accomplished our job at a certain age.

The fastest

The constant need to do things quickly and that way you will be happy. If I work hard and fast, I can finish early and then I can relax.

At school we measure ourselves by who is the fastest, who is the first to raise their hand, we have competitive sports. There’s a lot of shame around speed and how fast you are or how slow you are.

Time is a huge pressure.

meal time

I grew up in a family where 6pm was dinner time. Whether you were hungry or not. Having to control your appetite to have a meal that you have to eat all of it was difficult as a child because your appetite varies. Nowadays I eat dinner anywhere between 4 pm and 8 pm, depending on my appetite.

What time is it?

At night if I wake up I check to see what time it is, I’ve been stopping checking and wondering, why do I need to know the time, what does it matter? Not looking at the time has also allowed me to sleep longer and deeper.

Time is running out

I have always felt that I should go further with my success in life, I should have overcome those problems that I have not been able to heal. The time is finishing. I am missing things in life.

But there is so much pressure to feel that time is slipping away from me, that if it were more this or that or faster, I would have what I want. Or if things happened earlier, I would have been happy.

Time really is a man-made construct that puts a lot of pressure on us.

Is time pressure a thing in your life?

Eat Healthy to Lose Weight – How to Conquer Your Own Excuses

Eating healthy to lose weight

Many people never try to eat healthy to lose weight for various reasons. They claim that they don’t have the time or the willpower, or that they just don’t like healthy food, or that being fat is their natural constitution, or that they are too tired. Some even blame the weather. If they have cold winters, they say they can’t lose weight because it’s too cold. If they have hot summers, they say it’s too hot. Some say they don’t have time even though it takes the same amount of time to eat unhealthy as it does to eat healthy. So some have simply never learned to eat healthy to lose weight.

There is no doubt, hundreds of excuses people use to avoid healthy eating. You and I know that these are mere excuses. If some people can eat healthy, there’s really no reason everyone can’t eat healthy.

How to beat excuses and eat healthy to lose weight

get out of bed

If it’s too cold, too hot, you lack willpower, you don’t like healthy food, you’re too tired, whatever your excuse… just get out of bed in the morning. Nothing is healthier than just getting out of bed. Your heartbeat increases, your lungs open to absorb life-giving oxygen, and your blood begins to carry that oxygen to all parts of your body. With that activity, your brain and nervous system come to life and sleepiness begins to leave your body.

light exercise

Institute a 15-minute light exercise routine every morning when you get out of bed. It doesn’t have to be strenuous exercise. Just enough movement to increase your heartbeat, open up your lungs, and lubricate your joints. Then have breakfast.

Eat a small, nutritious breakfast.

Eating breakfast is one of the most important things you can do to control your weight. If your body isn’t used to eating breakfast… change that behavior. Your body will adjust to eating breakfast very quickly. Your body wants to eat breakfast. You’ve gone all night without eating and need to refuel (healthy refueling).

Your body wants carbs, protein, fiber, and water. Carbohydrates for energy to wake up and start all the organs, protein to keep blood sugar under control, fiber for efficient digestion and water. All organs in the body, especially the digestive system, need a lot of water to function efficiently.

Drink water, even if you think you don’t like water. Acquire a taste for water. Your body wants and needs water, pure and clean water. Not these so-called fruit juices (unless they are freshly squeezed with nothing added). These processed fruit juices are full of sugar-like additives and flavorings that your body doesn’t know what to do with, so it just stores them as fat. Your body craves water.

No coffee! Coffee does not offer your body any health benefits. Coffee is simply an addictive drug, it is the biggest drug addiction in the world. Coffee dehydrates your body and is a contributing factor to many of the diseases and conditions falsely attributed to aging.

Bread or potato products (donuts, sweet rolls, hash browns, etc.) are not allowed. These are starchy carbohydrates. Starchy carbohydrates break down into glucose very quickly, which raises your blood sugar. Also, if you’re not active enough to burn all that glucose, your body will store it as fat.

What is a small and nutritious breakfast? Fresh fruit, a bowl of oatmeal, and a tall glass of water. Or, a freshly prepared fruit smoothie along with your favorite nuts.

Healthy eating to lose weight

To lose weight, you need to eat several small, healthy meals every day. If true. One of the main contributors to being overweight is not eating regular meals. When your body doesn’t get nutrition on a regular schedule, it starts storing fat for the future, because it doesn’t know when it will get food again. If you feed your body every few hours, it relaxes, stops storing fat, and you start to lose weight.

Eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a small, healthy snack mid-morning and mid-afternoon is essential for health and weight loss.

Your three main meals should include lean meat for protein. Salmon, turkey, or lean beef. Plenty of freshly cooked or raw vegetables. A green leafy salad with walnuts. And fresh fruit.

Your mid-morning and afternoon snack might include carrot sticks, lettuce, or nuts.

body movement

The human body was designed for movement. The movement accelerates the heartbeat and opens the lungs, thus distributing the necessary oxygen to all parts of the body. This increased blood flow stimulates the brain and nervous system making them more attentive and alert.

The exercise need not be strenuous, but it should be frequent. If you sit at a desk all day, get up and walk around every hour. When you get to work and before you go home, take a brisk walk through the parking lot.

Every morning and evening, do a 15-minute light workout.

Conclution

To sum up,

1) getting out of bed every morning,
2) perform a 15-minute exercise routine,
3) eat a light and healthy breakfast,
4) have a mid-morning snack,
5) eat a healthy lunch,
6) have a mid-afternoon snack,
7) Eat a light and healthy dinner.

Follow these seven steps and your excuses will become healthy eating habits. You will find that you are eating healthy to lose weight and you love it.

Border Collie Puppies – Finding and Caring for Your New Collie

Border Collies are sheep herding dogs, which means they are naturally intelligent and quite intelligent. In fact, sometimes they are so smart that they are scary. They seem to see around corners. Border Collie puppies in particular are fascinating to look at, you can see the wheels turning inside their heads, it is extremely attractive to watch.

The Border Collie is considered a medium-sized dog (they grow to between thirty and forty-five pounds in size).

Now, in general, dogs fall into several different categories when it comes to height and weight, just like boxers you might say. There are large, medium, small and teacup size. Teacups have become popular lately because of the likes of (should we call her a celebrity?), Paris Hilton. Regardless, if you’re interested in Border Collies, then you’re probably not interested in a dog that looks like a cat. Paste.

Border collies are excellent family dogs. They are good with children and are very easily trained due to their sheep herding background. The Revealing Nature of Goan Sausage

To enjoy one of the star dishes of Goan cuisine, you literally have to rip the guts out of it. Goan sausage does not make it to the plate in its original shape, which resembles a long, smooth cylinder rolled into a spiral. There is no such thing as simply frying it for Goan sausage. First, the cook has to open the lid and pour the insides of the sausage over some onion slices that have been previously simmered in additional oil.

Those who are underweight may want to add potato wedges for extra nutrition… anyway, Goan sausage offers a sumptuous collection of bites surrounded by a blend of dark red spices. You can definitely enjoy a tasty treat, but not one that is easy on the stomach or for the faint of heart thanks to a heavy load of cholesterol. As you may have guessed, Goan sausage belongs more in the comfort food category than health food… this asset is shared with the country of origin.

Like its sausage, Goa can satisfy your heart and cause you trouble at the same time. Although it is now considered one of the iconic dishes of Goan cuisine and some people call it a must have in every kitchen cupboard, Goan sausage did not originate here. The art of making sausages was brought to Goa by the Portuguese, who invaded the country around 500 years ago. They converted masses of the local Hindu population, who never ate sausage, to Roman Catholics with a wide variety of non-vegetarian dishes made from freshly imported ingredients.

Portuguese missionaries brought cashews from Brazil. As fervent believers in alcoholic sustenance, they discovered the potential of palm tree toddy as a base for hard liquors. This led to the production of palm and cashew feni and, consequently, to the addiction to alcohol of part of the population. Tamarind from tropical Africa, tobacco, potatoes, pineapples, papayas, and two varieties of chili peppers from Mexico were other imports by the Portuguese invaders. Thus, ingredients from various parts of the world provided Goa with a rich cuisine of its own, unique to India, a blend of east and west.

All of this can be experienced today simply by cutting the skin off a Goan sausage. Immediately, the distinctive aroma of ground spices wafts through the air, tickling the taste buds and promising more deliciousness. Normally this calorie bomb is made with pork but if you are lucky you can find veal and wild boar sausages. The minced meat is salted, mixed with masala and marinated. After being stuffed into a sausage casing, it is cured and dried. This centuries-old tradition of preserving meat without a refrigerator means that these sausages have a shelf life of more than eight months.

Goan sausages have to be hardy as local women farmers sell them under the sun in the city markets. Many families still raise their own pigs and use them to make sausages, mainly for the monsoon season when fresh fish is scarce. However, like Goa, the humble sausage loses its appearance of a simple and cheap meal available for a few rupees in many bars and restaurants once it goes international.

You can buy Goan sausages on the internet for about the same price as Parma ham or smoked salmon. In fairness, the prized Goan sausage must be said to meet UK food standards. The original sold in Goa may have some trouble gaining international backing as local food production sometimes lacks supervision and doesn’t always follow the rules… Once out of the country, however, the Goan sausage negates its humble origins and becomes an expensive delicacy.

The same experience can be done with and in Goa. If you book your vacation on the international market, it can become an expensive affair. Many people pay thousands of dollars to spend a few days in the luxurious resorts scattered along the beautiful southern coast of the country. In these 5-star skies, pampered and protected from any disturbing sights, wealthy tourists can experience the sweet life and leave Goa thinking it is truly another tropical paradise of sun, sand and sea.

Unfortunately, these people have not opened the sausage and have missed out on discovering the soul of Goa. To explore the different morsels of Goa, one has to bring some time, patience, and an inquisitive mind. Once the sausage is cut open, you can see a variety of different bits and pieces. There are white butter dice that resemble some of the tourists who have contributed to the wealth of the country. Like the lard, these pieces somehow lack public recognition. They offer an easy target for criticism in the media by various fractions of Goan society. Politicians especially decry this influx of white meat as a deterioration of local culture whenever they need a scapegoat.

Although they bring millions into the country, no one really thanks these people for the role they play in providing a lot of income for many local citizens. They share this fate with lard and its cured form, bacon: who ever praised the health benefits of lard? Ok, maybe the actual health benefits are few, but one should not forget the tremendous amount of satisfaction and relief after ingesting large amounts of animal flesh.

At this point, you can probably guess that the author of this story is not from the vegetarian part of the population. Another ingredient that the sausage reveals is meat. Now there are a few greyish, whitish bits and also bits of meat that have turned brown from marinating in the masala. Like the so-called hippies who arrived in the country and opened it up to tourism, the basis of Goa’s current wealth, the whitish pieces resisted the influence of masala.

The throngs of peace-loving people who came to Goa in the aftermath of the 1960s gave no thought to the Roman Catholic religion and Hinduism that dominated the country for centuries. All they cared about was living a free and cheap life and throwing big parties. For a few years everyone was happy until greed took over on both sides. Some members of the local community discovered that much more money can be made selling drugs and robbing foreigners rather than just renting rooms and serving food. Unfortunately, some of the foreign guests joined them to profit from the drug trade.

Goa quickly lost its innocence and acquired a bad name internationally as a place where anything goes, even though the country is much bigger than these few pieces. Even if the so-called hippies brought a lot of trouble, at the same time they greatly enriched the culture of Goa. Thanks to foreigners, the flea market in Anjuna developed. This famous market displays a sample of products that come from all corners of the planet thanks to business travelers. The flea market is still a valuable source of income for many local entrepreneurs today.

In recent years, various Saturday night markets provide more business opportunities for local and foreign entrepreneurs. Although these foreigners are often branded as “hippies”, they enabled many Goans to make huge profits. However, they are often indiscriminately condemned in the media as drug dealers and rank very low in the public opinion of the native Goans.

Fortunately, we found many morsels of brown meat that has taken on the color of the masala in our Goan sausage. Like these pieces, many people from different parts of India and the world have come to Goa, incorporated the mix of local spices and added richness to its flavor. Many times there is a big fuss in the media that Goa is losing its culture under all this foreign influx.

At this point, one might ask: what culture to start with? The Hindu and Muslim culture that was present before the Portuguese? Just like the Goan sausage, today’s culture is a mix of many ingredients that come from all over the world. Goa has infused these ingredients into a unique masala, which is sadly not timeless. Once incorporated into the sausage, the masala shares its 8-month shelf life.

So Goan culture, often praised but rarely explained, also remains a subject of change. Of course, it is easy to blame the parts of society, which stand out from the masala, for all the negative changes. The blame game is played around the world and does little to provide solutions to existing problems. What Goa needs are citizens who enjoy the masala mix of the sausage. People exploring all the bits of the ingredients that contribute to this traditional meal – the long list includes saltpeter and the ubiquitous feni.

Many people from all over the world could contribute to making this state a better place. You don’t have to be born in Goa to analyze problems and contribute to their solutions. The world is changing rapidly everywhere. Most of Goa’s problems are not unique to the country. Instead of cultivating xenophobic tendencies, Goa could benefit from experiences from other parts of the world, brought here by internationally minded people.

Perhaps the time has come for Goans to embrace all the different parts of their diverse society. Without the blame game, there would be a lot more time and energy available to address the real issues facing Goa. In the end, everyone would benefit from rolling up their sleeves and tackling problems that cannot be overlooked as ever-growing mountains of garbage. One step towards a bright future for all people living in Goa would be to join forces. Let’s hope that the Goan sausage is ready for a new recipe, equally delicious, but easier to digest.

Astrophobia: fear of the impersonal nature of the personality

DO YOU BELIEVE IN ASTROLOGY? Be careful how you answer – it’s a trick question – the sound of a disoriented, phobic mind trying to get you into its ordered, dualistic paradigm. My answer? “As much as I believe in Hunter.” Why must The Mystery be so ruthlessly and mechanically nailed? Because the ego feels so desperately ephemeral.

Face it: there is no such thing as an “outer” mind. There is only “the” mind. The breeds of anxiety and anticipation that float around in our two-eared fish tanks are anything but exotic. Why do we spend so little time studying and befriending this outrageously interpenetrating, archetype-intoxicated psyche? Here are three possibilities. Choose your option:

1) Because it might reveal just how unnatural and downright tiring it is to keep our “gray matter island” state fixed for a lifetime?

2) Because it might make all the astronomical masks theatrically gorgeous but interchangeably unreal, and thereby blur the line between the definitely nice and unpleasant reference points (aka “personas”) we so sadly depend on for our lives? sail our sad ship across this sad sea?

3) Why is a detached and bullying mind preferable to a provisional one, an expert in dreams?

Do you believe in astrology? I hope not. A conceptually believed or disbelieved (vs. directly experienced) Leo archetype is nothing short of a cult. Smearing our eyes with belief or disbelief in something is no different than stumbling under the influence of a world-numbing hallucinogen.

From the ego’s point of view, astrology is a nuisance because it depersonalizes the personality. The personality traits we used to call “bear” turn out to be on loan to billions. All the sinister, boring and supremely emulable bodies/minds in the world are squeezed together, like kitchen towels, in a humble puddle of beingness. Our best crack at the “specialty”? Being uncommonly and heartbreakingly aware of the divine presence that is badly spoken of and devoutly ignored.

The passing mood of emptiness

The most hateful thing about astrology is not that it dares to associate planetary positions with personality colors, but how it insults our self-made notions of who we are. Whether the way we appear in the world is a function of the passing mood of the Void (as indicated by the constellation mudras), we are descendants of gods derived from a universe-sized psyche, or we are space junk with a flattering self sentiment. concept. Either way, we’re screwed. Option one means our hard-hearted robotic habits will likely follow us from lifetime to lifetime, so we’d better get to work now. Option two means that the kindest gesture and most mystical union we’ve ever known is probably just the Apocalypse of good humor.

Over there. Now you know why the serious study of astrology is so intimidating, and why we’ll never stop flipping through those Sun Sign columns we don’t believe in.
