• Breach of duty. A non-compliance issue can be viewed from (at least) two different angles …

• Balance test. Liability depends on whether the burden of proper precautions is less than the probability of harm multiplied by the severity of the resulting injury. B

• Negligence per se. The three essential criteria include: that the plaintiff is a member of the class intended to be protected by the statute, that the type of injury that occurred is of the type that the statute was enacted to protect and the violation was not excused.

But a student does not need to memorize these 214 words. This works:

• Negligence: duty, breach, standard of care, cause, harm.

• Default – balance, per se. (… and so on …)

Should a student “memorize by heart”? Ideally, no. It is not necessary if a student has adequately prepared for each class, compiled a personal course summary (outline), and answered dozens of short-answer (and longer) practice questions. The repetitive use of the fundamental rules to solve difficult problems integrates the elements into memory for most. But not all. That is why memory tools are important to many law students. (More on that later).

Another useful item to add to the bullet list above (what to memorize) is this: a list of each topic studied. This provides an excellent checklist for the student to quickly review during the pre-writing stage of writing the essay response. How much rote memorization does this involve? Little. Students should remember that the “memorizing” part, the rote learning part, is only a small part of what must be done to get a high score on tests. But if a student cannot analyze the elements of each intentional grievance (for example) quickly, without stopping to try to remember details, the problems will be missed. Don’t let that happen!

Few other dog breeds are as impressive in appearance as the Siberian Husky. Their gentle temperament and playful nature make them excellent family pets, as long as you can provide them with the exercise and company they need. They are a truly unique breed with their toughness and weather resistant double coats, which protect their skin from extreme temperatures in the hottest or coldest conditions. Although they are known for their striking blue eyes, not all dogs have this color, some are brown or with two eyes, one blue and one brown. As a proud owner of 6 of the breed, here are some tips that I have learned from both research and experience.

Do

• Get a companion husky for your Siberian if possible. Siberians are pack dogs and are easily bored. They don’t like to be left alone. If you do, you may find large holes dug in your garden when you return home, as Siberians can be quite destructive when bored. If you introduce them to another pet, then they will have a better chance of adjusting when they are in the puppy’s hood. They will mix successfully with cats and other dogs as long as you introduce them young. Our 6 Siberians live in peace and relative harmony with four cats.

• Fence your garden securely, making sure the foundation is deep and the fence too high for them to jump over. Huskies are world-class enthusiastic diggers and jumpers and are great escape artists. Also, his favorite hobby in the garden seems to be digging in his water bowls!

• Make sure your husky gets enough exercise. As they are working dogs, Siberians are not suitable for low-energy households. However, if you have companion dogs, they will enjoy playing tag with each other and will often wear themselves out running around your yard, if it’s big enough.

• Invest time and patience in training them. Siberians are very intelligent but also stubborn dogs. They may not do something unless they see the reason to do it, not just to please their owner.

• Keep them on a leash at all times when outdoors in an open area. As many Sibe owners know at their price, Huskies like to run and run, and lose all sense of reality. Sadly, many huskies are lost or injured due to this determination, as by the time they realize that they have left their owner behind or are too far from home, it is already too late. Worse still, they could find themselves crashing into the path of a car.

• Have them checked regularly for hip dysplasia from 6 years of age and older. While the breed does not have a wide range of documented health problems, they are prone to hip dysplasia, especially if they do not have high levels of fat and protein in their diet. The lifespan of a husky is generally 12-15 years. While they are known to withstand colder temperatures, their double coat also offers skin protection from the sun in hot weather, although with their very dense coat, your Husky’s favorite position may be to sit in front of the air unit. conditioned, lying on his back with all four legs in the air!

• If, like me, you live in a developing country (or area) without Western standards of veterinary care, check very carefully the type of anesthetic that will be administered to your Sibe. Have your vet test you if necessary. Serious reactions are possible in Huskies if an equivalent of human anesthesia is not administered; I speak here from experience. Fortunately, I had read about the dangers from the beginning and therefore had to avoid neutering them as the correct type of anesthetic was not available. However, there came a time when one of my Huskies needed immediate surgery for a life or death situation and I almost lost her due to her bad reaction to the anesthesia. His entire face and body were swollen and required emergency care. I now live in an area where good quality (human type) anesthesia is available and the local vet understands the peculiarities of the breed; so since then they have all been neutered without any problem.

• Get a Husky if you want a guard dog. Due to their lovable and caring nature, they are friendly with everyone, even strangers. They are great “watchdogs” though, they will see a burglar break into your home and greet them enthusiastically, then watch them leave with their TV, computer, etc.

• Worrying too much about grooming. They are very low maintenance, requiring a minimum of daily brushing. However, twice a year they shed profusely and then need more care.

• Wait for your Husky to bark. Instead, they have a great ability to speak, woo, howl, and yell and can make complete sentences when interacting with their owners and starting play. These dogs are real talkers, you never know what sounds they are going to make next and they seem to have a growing vocabulary as the years go by. Some of mine are now able to do complete sentences, talk about the weather, and the like!

• Supercharge them. Siberians are thrifty (and picky) with food, so they don’t need as much food as it sounds. Due to their sensitive digestive systems (remember they are sled dogs), they may do better with fish and white meat products than red meat. They also need fish oil in their diet to maintain healthy coat and nails. This could be in the form of sardines or many dry foods and veterinary supplements currently contain Omega 3s.

Invest time and love in caring for your husky and he will reward you with his kind, gentle and cheerful nature. They are loyal, intelligent dogs, good with children, affectionate with everyone and rarely bark.

Glass block is a beautiful architectural detail, often found in bathrooms such as windows or shower walls. It is a very durable and low maintenance product that diffuses light and adds value to any home. One of the best uses is as a window in a shower or over a bathtub, where privacy is essential, but light is desired.

I have installed thousands of windows and showers in the last seven years in Florida and have seen several puzzling events. Let me reiterate that out of the thousands of installations, I have only seen a handful of problems and have been able to fix them easily. The following are my favorites:

Misty block

This looks like an opaque block or hard to see through it, unlike those around it. Sometimes you can see condensed moisture inside. The cause is simple. The glass block is formed by melting molten glass in two shapes, then sealing those two shapes together, creating a block. During the sealing process, the block is generally vacuum sealed, which prevents moisture from entering the block. Occasionally the seal is not complete or sometimes movement once installed can break the seal, allowing air (and moisture) to enter the block. This moisture will eventually fog up and condense on the glass. The only solution is to remove and replace the block, best done with a hammer and chisel (with eye protection) or, better yet, pick up the phone and hire a professional.

Black dots within black

Another result of the sealing process is the occasional presence of ash within the vacuum sealed block. This looks like black matter and is no mold! This is harmless and the best solution is to ignore it. If it really bothers you, remove the block as above.

Spider lines on the inside of the block face

They are birthmarks that result from the heating and cooling of the glass. The best solution in this case is also to ignore them or, if it really bothers you, have them removed as directed.

Leaky grout joints

This is a particularly troublesome event, as you will undoubtedly experience water running down the block and sometimes collecting water. There are several possibilities in this case.

• The first and most benign is that the moisture in the air condenses on the window. Grout is a cementitious product, porous by nature. While glass block mortar has a waterproofing agent present, moisture will sometimes pass through the grout. If moisture is present regardless of rain or wind, and it results in faint white streaks running down the glass, simple condensation is probably your problem. Buy a grout sealer and seal the grout on both sides of the window.
• The second possibility is a broken seal in the grout or a poorly mortar window (the joint may have mortar on the inside and outside, but be void in the middle, providing little material to prevent water from seeping into the inside). This is often seen in heavy rain or rain from a particular direction. The grout should be cut with a 4 “electric grinder, packed with mortar and re-routed. Seal as above.
• The third option and the most difficult to solve is that of a leak. somewhere else in the house, which is finding its way through the porous joints of the glass block window. This leak must first be detected, which can be done by visual inspection, water testing (with a hose continuously spraying water on the side of the house), or a moisture meter. A good mold removal company can test the water and will have a moisture meter if you need help. Things to look for: cracks in the stucco over the window. Gaps in the stucco bands or gaskets over the window. Holes where two stucco beads or bands meet. Roof joints that have no flashing behind stucco or siding. A good home inspector can solve these problems. Note that this last issue has nothing to do with the glass block and should be resolved at the source of the leak.

Mysterious block of cracked glass

This is my favorite, because it is so unusual. You are asleep in the middle of the night and you hear broken glass. He searches the house and finds that his glass block window is broken. Or you’re going to take a shower and notice broken glass on the shower floor, only to find that your glass block window is broken! As time passes, more and more cracks appear and the glass blocks break. I fixed quite a few of these before I knew what was going on (as a disclaimer, I didn’t do the original installation!) The original installer decided to save a few bucks and forgo using glass block panel anchors as indicated by the maker. Instead, he used thick roof straps. Eventually these belts rusted, causing them to expand at the mortar joint. Something had to give to accommodate the expansion. The mortar has a great resistance to compression and its composition is dense, so it does not have space to spare. The only other option was glass, which eventually gave way under the constant and increasing pressure of the expanding metal. It’s amazing that rusty metal can break glass!

When you proceed to solve any of these problems, be careful! Removing the glass block is tedious and dangerous. Always wear eye protection and be aware that it is very difficult to remove a block without breaking the one next to it. Clean all broken glass thoroughly to avoid future damage. It would probably be worth investing a few dollars to hire a professional to inspect or troubleshoot any of these problems, as this goes beyond the basic home maintenance project.

Don’t let any of these issues stop you from using glass blocks. As you will notice, most of these problems can be avoided by using an experienced installer who follows the manufacturer’s instructions.
