Greatness in abundance – Taj Mahal
Something beautiful is a pleasure forever. Shah Jahan had this in mind when he built the Taj Mahal, the monument of love for his beloved Mumtaz Mahal? This is a question for which we will probably never find an answer. However, when he sees the Taj for the first time, he will know what it means when they say “Wonder of the world”. Now once he stands in front of that great monument in Agra; suddenly you will be stuck with the wonder, beauty, grandeur and majesty of the monument. My experience of seeing the Taj was a feeling that was completely out of this world. Here I was standing in front of a monument that was built hundreds of years ago with the perfect architecture, design and workmanship; and this was just an overwhelming feeling for me.
The Taj Mahal is one of the most popular tourist attractions in India and is also a must-see destination for all tourists from India and outside of India. The four minarets stand silently as testimony to all the events that have taken place at the Taj. From the time the monument was built at the time of Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor of India, to the time he spent some wonderful times here with his second and dearest wife Mumtaz Mahal. We will never get to know the joy, pain, heartbreak, laughter, innocence, passion and love that these four pillars have witnessed over time. If only those pillars could talk, we could have the story of a lifetime with us.
The best time to see the Taj is in the early morning at the time of sunrise, the view is simply stunning. This enduring monument of everlasting love is built in white marble. A huge white tomb flanked by the four minarets stands on a huge expanse of land. The monument is enormous in size and once you step inside, you will realize how huge it is. If you plan to visit the Taj soon, make sure you have plenty of time available. You won’t do this masterpiece justice if you don’t explore its different aspects with ease. The Taj has many mysteries waiting to be revealed; You will need plenty of time to explore this magnificent monument of love.
People experience different feelings when they visit the Taj Mahal, but one thing is common among all of them. They simply cannot help but marvel at the architectural marvel that was built with such precision and perfection, also at a time when none of the modern conveniences and resources we have today were available. In fact things were very hard in those days and imagine someone really made the effort to gather so many workers and materials from all over the world just to pay homage to the lady he was in love with. Can anything be better than this?
