Minigore 2: Zombies – Time to bleed

Stepping out of the shadows where Minigore left off, this sequel is a never-ending gore fest that provides hours of fun for the whole family (except perhaps the little ones).

When you go out into the world, there are little zombies everywhere. You don’t have to go looking for them, they find you, from all directions! But fear not, because you have seemingly endless energy to unleash ferocious slashes with your axe, slice through zombies’ flesh with your sword, crack a few heads with your sledgehammer, or take them down with your machine gun.

The on-screen appearance is bright, colorful and, above all, bloody… At the bottom left of the iPad screen is a blue joystick that allows you to move around the map. At the bottom right is the red weapon controller where you aim in the direction of the fire and your character turns to continue shooting in that direction.

There is also an auto fire option which will make the task easier for younger kids who just want to run around and cause zombie mayhem without having to think about which direction they need to turn to shoot, slash, or slash a zombie. The controls are quite natural and it’s very quick to get used to.

You have plenty of weapons to use when you do the world a favor by killing the zombies. There’s a machine gun, a machete, a shotgun, swords, axes, mallets, and a few grenades to create widespread mayhem. There is also the shop to buy more advanced items.

The store can be selected at any time during the game. You can buy everything from better weapons to special abilities and access to new maps. Some purchase options are not available until you have reached a certain level of play on an existing map, using a specific type of weapon. There are 300 different skins within the game, so there are many things that can be unlocked as you progress and the game is infinitely replayable to complete all parts of this great game. There are also some items in the shop that are free, so you don’t need to rack up a big score to go on a shopping fest. Here is a list of the things you can buy or upgrade.

Along the way you can collect weapons or buy new ones. If you buy access to a new map, you switch to that map automatically. You can choose to purchase your way through the game with upgrades or play your way through the game by collecting items in the world as you go.

Progressing through each level while collecting tiles is a lot of fun. Grim Reaper or a big boss will appear during a level or at the end of one. When switching to a new map, different characters appear which add to the variation of the game. The maps are colorful, the action is fast-paced, and most of all, playing Minigore 2: Zombies is a lot of fun. This one could be in the running for Game of the Year.
