To Be A Millionaire Borrow Money From Nigerian Banks!

One of my favorite plays growing up in those days was “The Howl of the Jackal.” This is a terrifying noise that was shrouded in mystery. It is a sound or shout produced by swinging sharp bamboo poles over someone’s head. As the shaft moves, it emits a cry that is often mistaken for a lion’s roar to announce the presence of the nocturnal masquerade.

The “Howl of the Jackal” is a ceremonial play for boys proclaiming their puberty. In traditional African society, there are ceremonies for people of a particular age group that allow them freedom of association within their age grade. The “Howl of the Jackal” is one of those ceremonial works that is associated only with men, especially boys, during the puberty proclamation. Like other African festivals, women are not allowed to leave homes during such proclamations; therefore, the boys are the only ones who are qualified to be outside.

However, underage children and those not going through the initiation fires will not be allowed access to the playground. Anything below the required age group is prohibited. Women who mistakenly go out in those periods are punished accordingly. The “Howl of the Jackal” is a kind of cult that is used to correct certain social ills, although most of society’s problems have their roots in it. It’s like putting a thief to catch a thief.

The activities of a number of commercial banks in Nigeria can be compared to the activities of boys who proclaim their puberty and do the “Jackal’s Howl” dance. At one point in history, Nigerian banks took on such an alarming proportion that almost every family can boast of owning a bank. The number confuses nationals in choosing a bank, so there is always strange behavior associated with them. People saw banks not as safe places but as wonderful institutions. Wonderful in the sense that they don’t multiply their customers’ money by allowing them huge interest rates, but rather these banks are upwardly mobile to fool them.

The deception reached such a point that every wealthy Nigerian family had to get their hands dirty in the muddy arena that characterized the macabre dance of the time. In fact, it seemed very strange that people would believe that you are really Nigerian if your family does not have a bank in their favor. The situation was that bad, and the unholy competition of the moment left so many people cold. It was the period when almost all the banks in the neighborhood were disappearing and their managers were fleeing abroad with their clients’ money without a trace.

The macabre dance continued unabated, one coin governor after another. It was the rein bird that says that if the hunter learns to shoot without missing, he will also learn to fly without perching. Since the problem took on so many other dimensions, people got tired of the banks. They learned again to bury their money in the ground as was the case in the past. It would be better for them to be eaten by termites than to hand them over to officially licensed thieves (commercial banks). This was the misfortune that affected almost all banks in Nigeria even at the time of reform and capitalization.

The old proverb said that if Mohammed did not go to the mountain, the mountain goes to Mohammed. Bank officials were always on the streets of Nigeria, leaving behind their air-conditioned corridors and offices, looking for clients. Bank officials generally known as “Marketers” have many weapons in their arsenal to win customers for their banks. There are the beautiful ladies and handsome young men who take to the streets daily like fashion shows and draw people to their banks no matter what it brings them, others are knocking on the doors of people’s offices and the business centers doing the same. thing like above. They don’t dare give up on a client, but they’d do their best until they’ve got him by the scrotal points.

There were promises upon promises. Promises to make millionaires to clients who dared to open accounts with them. People’s names were published in newspapers and electronic media, but poverty continued to plague the land. Offering loans to customers turned bank halls into waiting rooms for intended borrowers. Many people were eager to borrow from banks, since that is the only bait that seems real to them. There were plenty of other juicy carrots that were dangled in front of people until they were dead disappointed! Accounts were opened and held for some time and then closed. There were a number of complaints against these banks, as people’s assets were being seized and auctioned off on a daily basis without much noise. That is, the more people borrow from banks, the poorer they become. Trust these banks; no matter what cordial relationship there may have been, they won’t look back from taking their pound of meat. Clients were not left out of the hide-and-seek game, however, as many of them vanished into thin air without a trace after taking out a bank loan, a situation tantamount to a do-me-do-you kind of life.

Who then would like to be a millionaire with a bank loan? The Howling of the Jackal ceremony was empowered to checkmate social evil, but many evil practices were attributed to it. The fact is that all of us share the problems facing us today, and as such, we are all rotten to the core. In the Bible, the apostle Paul saw the wickedness in man and exclaimed: “There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is no one who seeks God” (Romans 3:10-11). None of us is capable of living up to God’s perfect standard of holiness. God sent his Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for the punishment we deserve, and then rise again. God wanted to reconcile us to himself. People like us who are “rotten to the core” need Jesus, who in his goodness has completely solved our problem.

When we acknowledge the fact that we have sinned and understand that Christ is what we need, we will truly discover that becoming a millionaire is very simple. The Bible warns us to seek first the kingdom of God before other things can follow. Sin breeds poverty, and poverty destroys and dehumanizes. Justice is what exalts a people while sin reproaches them. When we develop a new heart or attitude towards life, we invite God into our life plans, He helps us fulfill them. Are you a banker or a client? What are your plans to get to the next million mark: disappoint or do well? God sees. He is annoyed with our get-rich-quick attitudes and would judge every man based on his work. Becoming a millionaire is having the Spirit of God working in your life. To think.
