Business Process Automation for Businesses of Any Size

Business Process Automation for Businesses of Any Size

Many business owners read with envy that other companies automate processes and save a lot of money, but don’t see how they can apply it to their own business. At first glance, many business owners think they are too small for automation. The truth is, business owners just need to spend a little time identifying where automation will help them the most.

Here’s the question to ask yourself: “Which processes do you want to take less time and money and produce better results?” This question seems overwhelming at first, but not when broken down into smaller steps.

First, think about what processes could be done in much less time and for much less money.

Does your process require the same data to be entered over and over again into multiple systems?

For example, your employees write down their time on paper, then someone in accounting puts all that time into QuickBooks, and your office manager records how many vacation hours your people are using in a spreadsheet.

Is a human doing what a machine should?

Does your office manager spend countless hours a week creating the same Excel reports over and over again? Is he accepting all your sales orders over the phone? Is he managing all of his contacts with a book of business cards?

Second, think about processes that could lead to much better results, and then reflect on the following questions.

Do you often find errors in your accounting hours?

Are you late in delivering orders?

Do you forget to call business contacts who may have given you a business card?

Anyone who can answer the above questions in the affirmative can and should automate their business processes.

By automating, you can literally do more with less. You’ll be able to process more information, create more value, and ship more products to your customers in less time and with fewer errors. No sane business owner would do the bookkeeping with a pen and paper, so why do anything else manually that can be profitably automated?
