John Maynard Keynes

John Maynard Keynes (born June 5, 1883 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England – died April 21, 1946 in Firle, Sussex), English economist, journalist and financier, best known for his economic theories (Keynesian economics) on the sources of too much unemployment. His most significant work, The General Theory of Employment, Money, and Interest (1935-36), advocated a treatment for economic recession based on a government-sponsored total employment policy.

While the tone of Keynes’s key writings in the 1920s was sometimes suspect, it did not immediately challenge the traditional wisdom of the period that favored laissez-faire, only somewhat tempered by public policy, when the best of all arrangements potential social Two of Keynes’s views foreshadowed the theoretical revolution that began in the 1930s. In 1925, he opposed Britain’s return to the gold standard on the dollar-pound ratio before the war, and well before the war. Great Depression, Keynes expressed concern about the chronic unemployment of British coal miners, shipyard employees, and textile workers. Reconciled at this particular moment with Lloyd George (who would never take office again), he supported the Liberal Party’s public works call to get the unemployed off welfare into worthwhile jobs. But “respectable” economists still hoped that instant free-market changes would fix these problems, and Treasury was convinced that public works had been ineffective because any increase in the federal government deficit would likely cause an identical decrease in private investment. . Although Keynes was unable to provide a theoretical rebuttal to the views of his colleagues, he nonetheless agitated in favor of public works.

It was only later, in the General Theory of Employment, Money, and Interest, that Keynes offered an economic basis for government employment schemes as a solution to high unemployment. The General Theory, as it has come to be called, is actually one of the most important economics courses in history, yet its lack of clarity has economists debating “what Keynes was really saying.” He seemed to recommend that a decrease in wage rates would not decrease unemployment; rather, the key to reducing unemployment was to increase government spending and run a budget deficit. Governments, many of them looking for excuses to increase spending, wholeheartedly accepted Keynes’ views. Most of his pro-colleagues also recognized his views. Interestingly, Keynes thought that the kinds of policies he advocated would work best in a totalitarian society.

The long-term effect of Keynes has not been as substantial as his short-term impact. The Keynesian element was a fundamental part of economics textbooks from the late 1940s to the late 1980s. But as economists have become increasingly concerned with economic growth and much more informed about unemployment and inflation, the Keynesian model has lost ground.

The General Theory was Keynes’s last great written work. In 1937 he suffered a severe heart attack. Two years later, though not fully recovered, he returned to training at Cambridge, wrote 3 influential articles on war financing entitled How War Can be Financed and served once more in the Treasury as a multi-tasker. In addition, he had prominent work at the Bretton Woods Conference in 1944. But the institutions that resulted from that convention, the International Monetary Fund and also the World Bank, were much more symbolic of the theories of the United States Treasury than of the of Keynes. thought.

His last notable public service was the negotiation in the early winter and fall of 1945 of a multi-million dollar loan from the United States to Great Britain. Keynes died the following year.

Film therapy and the film making process

Do movies make a difference in our lives? Of course they do. We are human beings and we learn from what we see, hear and feel. Movies offer it all.

Even when the experience is vicarious and we only imagine ourselves in a role, movies affect us because of the combined impact of music, dialogue, lighting, camera angles, and sound effects that allow a movie to elude our ordinary defensive censors.

We can become emotionally receptive and energized by an uplifting message, or we can become desensitized to violent behavior. But like no other medium before it, the popular film presents the potential for a new power for therapeutic success. It is up to us to see that potential and use it in creative and beneficial ways.

Film Therapy is an assessment tool. While many adults benefit from talking about problems, thoughts, dreams, or emotions in psychotherapy, most children and adolescents find it more difficult to express such feelings. A young child’s response to movies can help the therapist understand the child’s personality, concerns, interests, or current problems. In a child’s selection of movies, we can find clues to their working role models…ideal self-images, inner resources, potential goals, perceived obstacles, degrees of imagination and creativity, and their overall philosophy of life. Motion therapy allows children to express feelings that may be too threatening to express directly.

Films can also be used to get to the bottom of difficult issues. Movies provide common ground for discussions about issues related to family, friendship, school, anxiety, self-esteem, or love. Problems can be approached in relation to an external element, and seeing how an individual in a movie handles a situation can give children ideas about how to deal with a problem in their own lives. Key scenes, seen over and over again, can become the foundation for practicing new skills. Many movies allow children and adolescents to imagine how their own problems can be solved when the characters demonstrate a change in behavior.

Many movies, like dreams, are full of metaphors and symbols that affect us on a deep level. Carl Jung believed that as the mind explores the symbol, it arrives at ideas that lie beyond the reach of reason. Metaphors and symbols stimulate two-sided thinking and creativity; creating a bridge to the subconscious and bypassing the normal ego defenses often found in traditional therapeutic approaches.

Myths and stories can help people put their own personal history and the stories of others in the proper context. All myths and stories have a villain and tell great stories of a journey that a hero must begin. Likewise, young people are on a journey of the heart and soul.

Filmmaking can be considered the contemporary form of mythmaking, reflecting our response to ourselves and the mysteries and wonders of our existence. Movies can have a powerful effect on children and teens because they speak directly to their heart and spirit, bypassing resistance from the conscious mind.

Motion therapy can offer information, role models, and options for more positive behaviors, but it is limited by its indirect nature. We are observing, perhaps internalizing, but not necessarily doing. Unless a child is actively and consciously engaged in behavior change, motion therapy lacks the experiential learning element.

While Film Therapy is an assessment tool, the Filmmaking Process becomes a concrete tool for behavior change. This is the best experiential learning, because it is creative and requires a child or adolescent to actively participate in its creation by becoming self-aware. A boy becomes the hero of his own movie and is actively involved in his own journey towards healthy behavior and adulthood. In essence, a child now becomes his own teacher and is learning about himself while watching the movie, over and over again. He is becoming the behavior he admires and solving his own problems while acting within his own scene and as his own role model. The Filmmaking Process was nominated to SAMHSA’s Service to Science Academy in 2008 as one of the Midwest’s most promising prevention programs for its unique fusion of creativity, technology, and human development.

The movie-making process starts with the problem to be addressed, then focuses on the desired result. The movie becomes the hero’s journey to solve the problem and demonstrate more positive behavior. If the problem is bullying, the film’s focus is kindness, the hero learns through his film experience how he feels, how he looks, and how he affects others. The movie is often based on a myth or a story from ancient times, but our hero is the boy.

The movie-making process uses gorilla filming techniques, which is basically the ingenuity of what is available to us at any given time. This can be in the child’s own home, in the backyard, in the neighborhood, at the park, or on the school playground. It’s the creative process of choosing a subject and putting together, or creating, the props that make the movie a movie. Kids and teens love to create their own costumes, and their costumes represent the hero they want to become.

The movie is shot like a silent movie, using gestures and expressions. This is an important part of child development, learning and recognizing the subtleties of human feelings, represented non-verbally in facial expressions and physical postures. This also allows any child to participate. No need to learn and memorize lines, just play the part, expressing the emotion through physical expression.

The movie is often shot through reflection. A child is remembering something from his past, perhaps an incident that caused him emotional pain, to himself or to others. The film is the journey through emotional pain to resolution and a happy ending. The movie always ends with resolution and hope. The journey is complete and the hero is more aware, more skilled, and can now see the incident in a new light.

The narration is added after the film is edited. The narrative is the plot that tells the story of the hero looking back at himself, overcoming obstacles, learning new behaviors, seeing new perspectives, and becoming more than he was before. Using voiceover narration, rather than trying to shoot a movie with sound, keeps the focus on facial expressions, body language, and action, and is very cost and time efficient.

Music is added to the entire movie. Music that is meaningful to the child or adolescent is best and is intended to create the emotional feelings that are important for behavior change. We must feel inspired to change behavior and we must feel hopeful. Music can take us to those heights. While the use of copyrighted music is a very serious problem these days, there are always musicians in every community who want their music heard and used. There is also a lot of royalty free music on the web.

It is essential that a child’s completed film is released with as much fanfare as possible. Inviting family and friends to watch the full movie is an important element in creating a new behavior. Most of the children and teenagers like to watch their movie over and over again. This reinforces the new learning and each viewing reinforces that learning. Now a boy is learning from the movie she created. He is learning that he can be her own hero and can go through life’s difficulties with awareness, skill and hope. He is no longer just watching, he has actively participated, and that is the great power of experiential learning.

Virus protection software for PC: overview of computer protection programs

Malware and virus creators are always trying to find new ways to gain access to the PCs and Internet-enabled devices of others. They do whatever they can to get money from the victims, be it hacking into their checking account, stealing their credit card information, stealing their identities, ransomware, etc. That’s why you need PC antivirus protection software that offers comprehensive protection against all kinds of threats.

The best security programs can keep up with all the new and growing threats. It’s kind of a race, so you’ll want to buy a software solution that includes daily automatic updates. You should be able to keep up with all the latest definitions of ransomware, phishing scams, and all kinds of malware and dangerous files.

Opt for software that works with a 24/7 global threat monitoring network. Cybercriminals never, ever seem to stop, so neither should monitoring and protection networks.

Another thing to look for is a program that offers seamless update options. If you’re a regular PC user, you probably don’t need enterprise-grade protection. However, the option should still be there for you to purchase additional protection and security tools as your needs grow.

PC virus protection software is generally available in various pricing and subscription options. Usually, the most basic version can be purchased for a single computer, either a PC or a Mac. If you also want protection for your smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc. there must be a Premium or Premier suite available with different pricing options.

Should You Consider Free PC Virus Protection Software?

What about free programs? While newer versions of Windows come with built-in security features, including a firewall, they don’t offer enough protection for the average user. Free programs generally offer only the bare minimum of protection. This doesn’t mean you should start spending money on PC virus protection software, as there are usually free trials available from the larger companies. Read the reviews and give one a try before deciding whether or not to purchase a license for the full version.

If you do a lot of online shopping and paying bills, you will definitely need a security suite that offers financial security. There must be a feature that keeps your financial data protected and encrypted.

Ease of use is another important consideration. If you’re the type who prefers to be hands-on, then the ideal program will offer manual scanning and update options. If you prefer apps to run silently in the background, their processes, including updates, should be automated.

In general, of all the cyber protection companies, Norton is perhaps the most popular. It offers antivirus protection software for PC, Mac, Android, iOS, etc… Choose Norton Antivirus Basic, Standard, Deluxe and Premium.

Save money by using Norton coupon codes. Review all of their different virus and security products to determine which one best suits your needs. Norton definitely offers superior virus protection software for PCs.

President Bush and the numerology of the pyramids

Can Numerology reveal the future? Some think so and most numerologists are familiar with the predictive aspects of the Art. One of the most common, and perhaps reliable, techniques is pyramidal or pinnacle numerology. Each Pinnacle represents a long-term cycle of learning and challenge as we progress on our Life Path. With the exception of the first, each cycle lasts nine years. The transitions between pinnacles are almost always strongly felt and correspond to a psychological change in perspective. There’s usually a two-year overlap, before and after the Pinnacle date, where we prepare for and then get comfortable with these momentous changes. The first turn is often the hardest, but it is the gateway to maturity and often provides a sense of direction and identity.

Note: One of the most profitable areas in Numerology is Comparative Life Cycle studies. What follows is a study of the pinnacle cycles of President George W. Bush. It is not meant to be critical, political or otherwise, but simply a learning tool. Politics and politics are not the subject but the information revealed by Pinnacles compared to events in the president’s life. We’ll first discuss the Pinnacle and then compare the events, as we know them. You can draw your own conclusions about its accuracy. Please note that no other predictive tools or methodologies are used.

1st pinnacle: The 4 vibration was influencing President Bush until the age of 30. This represents hard work and the rewards of it. This is the time to build a solid and lasting foundation. Pinnacle 4 empowers organizational and management skills and puts success within easy reach. However, success must be built piece by piece – imagine a child playing with Legos or building blocks. Slowly but surely, creating in the material world what only he sees in his imagination. This means that while the end goal will be achieved, there will be frustrations and challenges along the way. Growth takes time and is a slow process. Often, people under the 4 vibration oscillate between the solidity of the 4 and a drive toward chaos. The negative side of the 4 influence is the unwillingness to accept the need for order, discipline and rules. The child who faces this pinnacle as the first is often driven by an inner need to go beyond his parent’s real or perceived limitations, but must avoid jumping too soon into the harsh world of practical affairs. .

Major events from birth to 1976: True to his style, the President begins to lay his foundations in this period. Among other accomplishments, he received a BA in history from Yale in 1968 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1974. He is working on several political campaigns at this time, including two of his father’s Senate campaigns. . He is a member of the Texas Air National Guard. and then the Alabama Air National Guard. The negative aspects of this Pinnacle were also felt. President Bush himself has called this period of his life “irresponsible.” A time in his life that he has admitted was fueled in part by substance abuse and disorderly conduct. Now, he takes note of the turnaround of the year 1976. Caught firmly between the energies of the two Pinnacles, an often traumatic moment with strong psychological implications, the President is arrested and charged with DUI on September 4, 1976.

2nd pinnacle: The second pinnacle of President Bush is the eighth influence. This is a harvest cycle when material growth will occur. Enhances success in business and finance. It also strengthens the personal power that is the foundation of success. Other people recognize this about you and submit to your judgment. People put their faith in you and want to share your vision. Problems become challenges as you grow in stability and develop the organizational skills to run large companies. Your influence on others will be almost supernatural and you will get closer and closer to the realization of your dreams. The challenge in this period is the development of your spiritual being. This pinnacle is a test of balance between material and spiritual abundance. If you do not find this balance you become a slave to the almighty dollar, if you find it you find an awakening to the true values of life.

Main events 1977 – 1985: The years 1976, 1977 and 1978 are very important for the president. Notice how close they are to the Pinnacle change. He enters the oil industry at this time. In ’77, the president meets Laura Welch. A short time later (3 months) they will get married. In 1978, the president ran for congress and lost. The loss was only by a slim margin and his political opponent, Democrat Kent Hance, will later donate money to the president’s gubernatorial campaign. Finally, in 1981 his twin daughters were born and the President joined his wife’s church.

3rd pinnacle: The next Pinnacle exerts influence 3 and acts on President Bush until the age of 48. In this period, self-expression comes to the fore. It is a very social time where your friends and admirers will be attracted to you. Under this influence, your ability to inspire and motivate others will be very strong, and your positive outlook and energy will make others want to work for you. This tends to be a very lucky period where problems seem to go away. However, this can lead to a less vigilant attitude towards your achievements. Focus and discipline are required and you need to beware of impulsive behavior and chaotic thinking, otherwise you will waste your opportunities.

Main events 1986 – 1994: In 1986, once again noticing his proximity to the turn, the president stopped drinking and began to read the Bible. After a meeting with Reverend Billy Graham, he is born again. Two years later, he moves his family to DC to work on his father’s presidential campaign. He helps develop a strategy to woo conservative and evangelical voters, a strategy that works. He makes numerous speeches at fundraisers and rallies, and meets with religious and conservative organizations on behalf of his father. In 1989, he bought a stake in the Texas Ranger baseball team and served as general managing partner, where he led team projects, remained active in team public relations, and regularly attended games, choosing to sit outside with fans. . The Rangers were, for the most part, successful during the Bush tenure, acquiring Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan. In 1993 he completed the Houston Marathon. And precisely in Pinnacle’s turn in 1994 we find: he is involved in the construction of ‘The Ballpark’ in Arlington, the Rangers win their first division title and declares his candidacy for Governor.

4th pinnacle: This Pinnacles acts on the President until the age of 57 and his influence

it is the 9 vibration. This is a period in which President Bush will begin to identify with a goal of universal reach. Social activism is prominent as is being an agent of social change. It will seek to apply itself to the good of the community. Sacrifice is required and your personal ambitions must be subservient to the greater good. This is a period in which the president will face a great challenge. The inner drive is for greater love and compassion for the community, country and world, and a sense of social responsibility develops. He begins to see humanity as a whole. People under this pinnacle are often drawn to religious or philosophical teachings and may begin to spread some particular doctrine or belief system. The challenge is again to stay married to material reality and not become too idealistic. If the ideal is too large, it may result in failure. Travel in this period will be prominent and you will find yourself meeting people from many varied cultures.

Main events 1995 – 2003: Bush’s gubernatorial candidacy is based on the theme of ‘personal responsibility’ and ‘moral leadership’. The campaign focused on the issues of education, misguided reform, and crime. His popularity grew after an impressive performance in a debate (believe it or not) with his political rival Ann Richards. He is elected and in his first term he fulfills his promises by increasing funding for education, legislating tort reform, and reforming the criminal justice system. In 1998, the then governor of Texas won re-election in a landslide. He is one of the most popular governors in the United States right now. Bush is running for president under the rubric of “compassionate conservatism.” He is elected to the position of president. 9-11. In March 2003 he invades Iraq.

5th pinnacle: The fifth pinnacle of the president is a 7 and will exert its influence until 2012, when President Bush turns 66. This will be a time of internal reflection and examination of conscience. Spiritual growth continues to develop and faith is strengthened. During these periods, the universe itself seems to drive a person. People start to specialize during this time and follow some particular course. As intuition develops, you will have a strange feeling of ‘the next step’. However, this shift in consciousness makes it difficult to clearly articulate ideas. However, the experience in some area will be yours as you learn to see below the surface of things. The challenge is to refrain from becoming cynical or critical. President Bush must not withdraw from society. Sarcasm doesn’t sit well with him.

Main Events 2004 – 2012: In 2004, precisely in the Pinnacle turn, he was re-elected to the Presidency. His inaugural speech centers on the theme of universal freedom and democracy: are you still feeling the effects of the latest Pinnacle? Since then we have seen a broader discussion of the Iraq war and the war on terror. The president seems more open to advice and input from others. Pinnacle 7 can lead to inaction or informed action. It remains to be seen what direction it will take. While his ability to articulate his ideas and ‘sell’ them to the public is likely to continue to suffer, the actions he will take over the next two years appear to be moving towards a reassessment of the ‘big picture’. We can expect some surprising moves from this president as he changes policy due to increased introspection. Many questions will arise in the geopolitical sphere, problems that can only be solved with an intuitive approach. The world, as of January 1, entered a year 9. This year he will see a resolution to policy issues and a reassessment of goals and strategy. The president will regain popularity in the poles and his second term on a surprisingly high note.

Appendix: The Pinnacles are not the only predictive tool in Numerology. And a full examination of future potentialities would need to include factors such as Challenge Numbers, Essence and Transits, Personal Years, Months and Days as well as many other contributing elements.

Brazil is close to the lowest cost of living in the world

Brazil is the largest country in South America and offers ample travel opportunities and a range of life opportunities that you would expect from such a large and diverse country. There are the jungles of the Amazon rainforests, the high plains of the pampas around Brasília and of course the world famous beaches, and much more. The variety of landscapes is enormous. Brazilians are world famous for their hospitality and friendliness, and they welcome foreigners without hesitation. Rio de Janeiro is well known for its beaches, parties, nightlife and the biggest party in the world, Carnival.

Brazil is fun, interesting and warmly welcomes everyone. So you might expect it to be an expensive place to live. It is not. Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil are among the cheapest cities in the world to live in, according to a study by the British consultancy Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

It is often said in Brazil: “Either you have a housekeeper or you are a housekeeper.” Even middle-class working families often have a maid or housekeeper in Brazil.

You can withdraw in Brazil. A retirement visa is available, but to qualify for it you must have proof of an income of at least $2000 per month (plus an additional amount for dependents). There is also an investment category, as well as other ways to become a permanent resident in Brazil.

Permanent residents of Brazil can apply for Brazilian passports and can also keep their current citizenships and passports. It is perfectly legal and common to do so. There may be some benefit to having a Brazilian passport. US citizens are sometimes targeted by terrorists when traveling abroad. The Brazilians are not in the spotlight.

Health care is a high priority for retirees. Health in Brazil is very good. The poorest people are entirely dependent on the free national health system. It is not necessary to be a citizen of Brazil to use the national health system. Anyone who is legally in the country can use the national health system. The national health care system does a good job of providing all health care needs at no cost to patients. National healthcare patients pay nothing at all for doctors’ fees, lab fees, hospitalization, surgery, and even prescription drugs are free.

Brazil’s national health system is roughly equal to the caliber and operating style of the VA hospital system in the US There are some drawbacks to this system. You will not receive the best possible quality of health care in the national health care system. There is a compensation. If you want completely free healthcare, including all your prescription drugs, Brazil’s national healthcare system is very good. Free healthcare is a good safety net. If you want the best possible quality of health care, then you have to pay. The wealthiest Brazilians prefer two different private health care providers, such as Blue Cross & Blue Shield.

The first private market medical provider is UniMed, which is owned and operated by physicians. They have their own hospitals and clinics all over Brazil, they use a referral system, while you have a GP and refer you when necessary to a specialist for any special treatment. A plan for a family of three costs around R$600.00 per month (less than $300 USD). I would recommend UniMed if you demand the highest quality medical care. Personally, I prefer the totally free national health system, but each with their own.

The second largest private market medical provider is Banco Bradesco, which is a major financial institution in Brazil that offers health insurance and directly employs a sizeable and high-calibre medical staff. The difference with this type of policy is that they only have private clinics and they have to buy hospitalization coverage from someone like UniMed. The costs are also higher. A comprehensive health insurance policy for a family of three races in the vicinity of R$1,000.00 ($500 USD) per month.

The bottom line is that you can get more for your money in Brazil than almost anywhere else in the world. You can enjoy a higher standard of living for your money.

What is creative photography?

Creative photography is an open field for all people. Honestly speaking, there is no easy definition of the term, as a good number of people think of a creative photo as something abstract and out of focus. Others just think the term “creative” is just a fun way to praise a bad photo in general. But what would be the next best thing that can define creative photography for us? Some artists think of creative photography as containing additional elements that are used to creatively enhance the original version of the photo.

If you noticed, that definition has two very important aspects that make a big difference between a creative photo and an everyday photo:

additional elements, which are mostly outside of the regular process of taking a photo and have a lot of room for interpretation. Creative minds always include some kind of simplistic workflow in photos, and it can be as simple or as complex as you like. The main goal is simply to get the best out of a single photo.

Intention, or the intentional use of additional elements. When it comes to taking photos, photographers always lack that extra bit of creativity. This is why getting a good camera exposure will never make a photo look or feel creative. But intentional underexposure with the goal of getting a darker image adds an extra touch of creativity.

By capturing a well-exposed image of anything, no artist will ever consider it a creative display. If you’re wondering why, you should know that it’s because nothing outside of your normal photography workflow was used to take the image. As good as your location, lighting, weather, and all other real-life factors are, you can’t bring out the colors and other details in an image without good post-processing skills.

Once you compare a non-stylized photo to something taken under bright lighting, shallow DOF, and the rule of thirds, you can create an image that will make your audience dream of what your image shows. With that approach to photography, not every artist will admit that their work has a creative edge, but when you take the definition highlighted above, the additional elements and intent can be nature itself.

Of course, people will always differentiate creative from non-creative photography, but just like art, there is no pattern that directs you in any way. There is no definitive answer to what makes a creative photographer because unlike the technical part of photography, which has a clearly defined workflow, the creative part does not. That is the most challenging and exciting part of creative photography, and that is also the reason why people think that learning photography is something they spend their whole lives doing. While you can pick up on the technical side of photography, it’s the creative side that will require you to always look for new ways to achieve your goals.

The unfortunate thing is that almost no one can give you a direct creative workflow. The only two things she can work on are careful observation and thinking outside the box. These two methods are an absolute must for capturing creative photos.

Best practices for capturing an image ready for a creative touch include improving the composition of the frame by removing all distracting elements around it (such as trees or buildings). The final result, of course, will look dull and boring, even if there are no technical errors in the image. It can take as little as one ocean wave for an image to look impressive, and it’s a completely natural occurrence.

Planning for the disabled child with a supplemental needs trust

Since 1993, it has been public policy in New York State to allow the parents (or other relatives) of a disabled child to establish a trust for their estate that does not disqualify them from government benefits, such as Social Security and Medicaid. The reasoning behind these Supplemental Needs Trusts is simple: Before the protection these trusts now provide, parents would simply disinherit their disabled children rather than watch them lose their benefits. Since the state wasn’t getting the money from the estate anyway, why not allow the disabled child to leave for his or her additional needs, beyond what the state provides, such as sundries, clothing, meals, vacations? , additional costs? -over-the-counter medications, updated medical procedures, reading material, recreation, improved housing, etc.

These trusts, however, offer traps for the unwary. Since payments to the child will generally reduce your SSI payments dollar for dollar, trustees of such trusts should be encouraged to make payments directly to providers of goods and services. Preserving SSI benefits is crucial since SSI eligibility determines Medicaid eligibility. In other words, if SSI is lost, the beneficiary also loses their Medicaid benefits. Also, any benefits previously paid by Medicaid can be recovered. As such, legacies from well-intentioned grandparents must also be considered.

Distributions from the trust to the beneficiary must be “in kind” and not in cash. For example, the trust may own items such as furniture and allow the child beneficiary to use it. In addition, the supplemental needs trust must be carefully drafted so that it only allows payments for any benefit that exceeds what the government provides, not only now but also in the future. The child cannot control or have direct access to any part of the trust.

A major issue for parents today is increasing the life expectancy of their disabled child. With the great advances in medical care, many disabled children, who in earlier days would have predeceased their parents, now outlive them. To resolve this problem, parents often make the planning error of leaving a disproportionate share of the estate to the disabled child. This can breed resentment among siblings who, while initially agreeing to such an arrangement, may later find themselves in need of funds and resent the unequal distribution in favor of the disabled child. Surviving siblings are often the only support network available to a child with special needs, so maintaining peace and harmony in the family is most important.

Often, a discussion with the estate planning attorney will reveal that the proceeds from an equitable division of the estate will, in fact, be sufficient to meet the needs of the disabled child. If that is not the case, “second to die” insurance can be purchased to provide the additional funds needed. Policies are written on two lives, those of both parents. Since the insurance company only has to pay when the second parent dies (that is, when the funds are needed), the premiums are significantly lower than on an individual life policy.

Some parents, feeling that the family is close enough, think that they can simply leave the inheritance to a brother or sister who will then take care of the disabled sibling. This does not offer protection to the disabled child in the event that the sibling has financial difficulties, gets divorced, or predeceases the disabled child. The Supplemental Needs Trust allows the sibling, as trustee, to manage the assets for the benefit of the disabled child while providing full protection for the funds and the appointment of backup trustees to continue the trust in the event of the child’s death or disability. the initial trustee. Remember, these trusts may have to last for many years.

With the complexity of modern trust administration, many parents are choosing both a personal and a professional trustee, so that the family member can provide personal input while the professional trustee handles the administrative elements, such as control of trusts. investments and preparation of tax returns.

It’s also a good idea to review beneficiary designations on IRAs and 401(k)s, as well as on annuities and insurance policies so that the disabled child’s supplemental needs trust is named as the beneficiary rather than the child himself. Be careful with simple designations like “my spouse first and my children second.”

Another key issue is the continuity of care for the child after the death of the surviving parent. Revocable living trusts are often used as the estate plan of choice, since the trustee can use and distribute assets for the benefit of the disabled child immediately after the death of the parents, unlike in the case of a will, which first must be legalized, a judicial procedure to determine its validity. These procedures can tie up estate assets for many months or even years in some cases.

Not to be overlooked in planning for the disabled child is the “Letter of Intent” or Personal Needs Notebook, where the parents provide the following information to the trustees

(1) the nature of the child’s disability

(2) emotional and financial care provided by the family

(3) people involved with the child

(4) the abilities and limitations of the child

(5) your likes and dislikes

(6) their peculiarities and nuances of behavior

(7) your daily routine, and

(8) how they act with other people and in other places when parents are not around.

One last word of caution. When dealing with a disabled child, it is of the utmost importance that funds are available when needed. As such, the parent’s long-term care insurance should be arranged so that the money the family relies on to support the disabled child is not lost to the parents’ potential nursing home expenses.

Business Lawyer Career: How To Become A Business Lawyer

To become a business law attorney, there are a few simple steps. At least the steps are easy to understand, but doing each step requires years of hard work.

1. Take the LSAT
The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a nationally standardized test. Your LSAT score includes points based on your correct answers on the LSAT. Your LSAT score is also adjusted based on your college GPA and the competitiveness of your college. Once you take the LSAT, you must arrange to have your LSAT score sent to law schools as part of your application for admission. Law schools then compare your LSAT score and other admissions application materials to determine which applicants to accept. The law school admissions process is very competitive, but with good college grades, good performance on the LSAT, and a good law school application, you should be admitted to law school.

2. Attend Law School
Next, you must attend law school. This can’t be just any law school. Your state may only allow you to practice law if you attend an ABA-approved law school. Most states require law students to attend an ABA-approved law school before taking the bar exam in that state. California is a notable exception. In California, you can take the bar exam even if you didn’t attend an ABA-approved law school. However, California has other rules, so check them out if you are considering attending a non-ABA approved law school.

3. Pass the bar exam
Once you have graduated from law school, you will prepare to take the most important law exam of your life. Each state has its own bar exam, which takes two to three days depending on the state. You must pass the bar exam to practice law in your state. It may be worth noting exceptions to this rule. Most states allow you to practice law if you are licensed to practice law in another state and meet other requirements. A very small number of states will allow someone to practice law if that person has experience as a court clerk, but this exception is rarely used today.

4. Get licensed to practice law in your state
To be licensed to practice law, you must apply for admission. The admissions process involves a criminal record check, a lengthy application, success in passing the bar, and a host of other requirements. If your application is approved, you must be sworn in. After you are sworn in, you are officially an attorney licensed to practice law in that state.

5. Get a business lawyer job or find your own business clients
The final step is to get a job practicing business law at a law firm or find your own business law clients and practice as a freelance lawyer. Working for a law firm or starting your own law practice largely depends on personal preference and whether you would be able to acquire enough clients to work on your own. If you start practicing law at a law firm, you are not normally expected to attract clients for at least a few years.

Getting a business lawyer job is not necessarily easy. First of all, not all law firms practice business law. If you are interested in being a business lawyer, you should look for firms that have business clients. Second, your ability to obtain a business attorney position may also depend on your business experience. Business law jobs are often found at large firms, which can require strong resumes because many lawyers want to work in business law compared to the number of positions available. If you have a business background or an MBA, you will have a better chance of getting a job as a business lawyer. Good grades from law school and other impressive resume items will also be important.

Are you sure you want to be a business lawyer?
As a final piece of advice, here is a suggestion. Before you embark on the long road to becoming a business lawyer, make sure that a career as a business lawyer is what you want. As you may know, the work of a business lawyer is nothing like what is shown on television. He would be disappointed if he spent years of his life taking out loans for law school only to find out later that he doesn’t like being a business lawyer. You may want to interview a few business lawyers, read up on the profession, or even observe a business lawyer or two for a day. That would let you see what a day in the life of a lawyer is really like. Before you invest money and time in pursuing a legal career, make sure you really want it.

Conclusion
As you can see, the steps to become a business law attorney are simple to understand. However, the process involves years of hard work. Determining whether you want to become a business lawyer is an important question that deserves careful consideration before investing so much time and money. Many people have really enjoyed being a business lawyer, and for them, the years of training and the cost of education were an excellent investment.
