Writing articles: challenge yourself, make it a habit

The first article is just the beginning. Article marketing is a numbers game. You need to keep writing to see increasing results. If you’re just starting out, how can you make it a part of your routine without much difficulty?

When I started, it was not easy for me. It took me two or more hours to finish an article. When I sent it, I felt exhausted. I stopped writing for at least a week. The idea of writing articles really put me off.

It wasn’t until two years ago that I started writing regularly. The owner of a community website asked me to contribute to a topic on a weekly basis. At least I was finally able to fit it into my weekly schedule.

Several months later, I decided to play it at a higher level. I challenged myself to write 30 articles in a month. That’s one article per day. I made a routine to write every day. And the result amazed me. I wrote on average 3-4 articles per day, resulting in 95 articles in 30 days!

The challenge itself helped to encourage me to win the game. However, I think there were a few things that are also important:

1. Templates or skeletons of articles
I used some article templates that I created myself and copied from others to keep my articles in the correct structure. I always believe in not reinventing the wheel. If there is a formula that works, I take the shortcut.

2. Assign my best time of day to write
If your best time is in the morning, start your day by writing an article. Even if the day goes wrong for you, at least you have something done.

Make sure you get your most important work done during your prime time of day. It’s a safe way to do it.

3. Flow of ideas
Bringing article writing and marketing into my life on a regular basis means I was immersed in the process every day. As a result, ideas began to enter my life in all directions.

I started having ideas at any time of the day. I developed a method of writing them and have never run out of ideas ever since.
